The Opportunity

Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Vice President, Global Broker Distribution to lead strategic broker engagement initiatives and strengthen relationships with National and Global Broker partners across Canada.

You will lead the execution of a multi-divisional broker distribution strategy focused on deepening executive-level broker partnerships, driving profitable growth, and positioning Zurich as the broker's most trusted and valuable insurance partner. You will work cross-functionally with underwriting, distribution, customer management, and executive leadership teams to align broker strategies with Zurich's business priorities and growth objectives. This role will play a critical part in expanding market presence, enhancing sales effectiveness, and delivering tailored distribution solutions that support Zurich Canada's long-term strategic ambitions.

What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain strong strategic business relationships with assigned National and Global Broker partners.
  • Help develop and execute effective communication and relationship management programs across all levels of broker organizations.
  • Develop a strong understanding of broker strategies, organizational structures, market positioning, and business priorities, and align them with Zurich's business objectives.
  • Partner cross-functionally with underwriting, distribution, and executive leadership teams to support targeted growth opportunities and strategic initiatives.
  • Analyze market, broker, and distribution data to identify trends, growth opportunities, and operational improvements.
  • Monitor broker performance and identify recurring issues, escalation themes, and opportunities for strategic intervention.
  • Evaluate and resolve complex customer and distributor issues while identifying opportunities to improve channel effectiveness and growth.
  • Design and implement business process standards, campaigns, and distribution programs to support operational excellence.
  • Leverage tools, segmentation strategies, customer insights, and value propositions to improve sales effectiveness and distribution capabilities across multiple geographies.
  • Support strategic tenders, broker network development, and market expansion opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external broker partners to drive profitable growth and strengthen Zurich's market position.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of distribution strategies supporting complex insurance solutions and alternative risk financing opportunities.


What you bring to the table:

Required:
• Bachelor's Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Relationship Management area

AND
• 10 or more years of experience in underwriting, distribution management, and/or relationship management roles within theinsurance industry

Preferred:
• Strong understanding of broker needs, value chains, and business drivers
• Experience managing strategic relationships with National and/or Global Brokers
• Knowledge of complex insurance programs and alternative risk financing solutions
• Experience working within a regulated insurance environment and navigating regulatory change
• Strong listening, communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills
• Strong project and process management capabilities
• Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking skills
• Action-oriented mindset with the ability to drive execution and outcomes
• People leadership and team management experience preferred
• Proven ability to work effectively across multiple business units and stakeholder groups
• Ability to travel as required to support broker and market-facing engagements
