About the Role
The Vice President, Corporate Development will lead the company's inorganic growth strategy, shaping and executing initiatives that accelerate growth, expand market opportunities, strengthen competitive differentiation, and enhance shareholder value. This executive will play a critical role in identifying and assessing strategic opportunities across mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, partnerships, and other growth initiatives that support the company's long-term vision.
Reporting to the SVP, Chief Strategy Officer, the Vice President, Corporate Development serves as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team and Board of Directors, providing strategic insights on market trends, competitive dynamics, emerging technologies, and opportunities to enhance the company's portfolio and market position.
Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.
- Develop and lead the company's corporate development strategy in alignment with overall business and growth objectives, identifying inorganic opportunities that expand capabilities and unlock new markets.
- Lead the evaluation and execution of acquisitions, investments, and strategic transactions, developing investment theses and business cases that assess market potential, competitive advantage, and long-term value creation.
- Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership and the Board of Directors on corporate development activities, strategic growth opportunities, and capital allocation decisions.
- Build and maintain a long-term opportunity pipeline, guiding transactions from opportunity assessment through integration while ensuring alignment with business strategy and stakeholder priorities.
- Identify and evaluate alliances, joint ventures, ecosystem relationships, and strategic partnerships that support growth objectives across build, buy, partner, and invest alternatives.
- Drive a disciplined approach to realizing strategic and financial value from completed transactions, partnering with business leaders to evaluate performance and incorporate lessons learned into future decision-making.
Role Essentials
You'll need these skills to hit the ground running:
- 12β15+ years of progressive experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, strategy consulting, or related strategic leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success leading complex M&A transactions and strategic growth initiatives from evaluation through execution.
- Strong background within enterprise software, SaaS, information management, or technology-driven organizations.
- Strong financial acumen, including valuation, investment analysis, capital allocation, and transaction structuring.
- Executive presence with proven experience influencing senior leaders, Boards of Directors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
