Full Job Description
The Vice President/Senior Vice President Client Business Lead is a senior leadership role responsible for driving business growth and leading strategic client partnerships within the Medical Communications practice. It is a new position, replacing a more conventional business development role, traditionally solely focused on sales leads, with a hybrid approach, that also encompasses senior client service abilities. This individual serves as the primary new client growth lead, accountable for revenue growth, client satisfaction, and subsequent excellence in delivery. The role combines business development, strategic consulting, and client service leadership, working across cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact, scientifically accurate communication solutions for pharmaceutical and biotech clients

The Client Business Lead (CBL) will be responsible for building relationships with and partnering alongside pharma and biotech brand teams, medical affairs teams, and commercial teams. The CBL will be responsible for driving new business growth by identifying and targeting prospective new clients while also partnering internally to lead proposal creation and delivery, including RFPs. Once business has been won, the CBL will continue relationships with selected key clients, ensuring that on-boarding and project delivery ensues at the very highest standard, overseeing the client experience.

Key responsibilities:

Business Development:
• Drive new business acquisition and secure new client opportunities with the goal of meeting sales targets
• Partner with prospective clients to anticipate and identify their needs and partner with internal teams to innovate strategies and solutions, to establish Decera Clinical as a key partner
• Provide strategic advice to clients on publications, commercial, medical affairs, and other internal divisions to support their implementation of strategic communications programs
• Build and manage a robust sales pipeline
• Lead RFPs, pitches, and proposal development to ensure actionable, on-target, and timely proposals
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support overall company growth through cross-sell opportunities

Client Leadership & Relationship Management
• Serve as a senior client contact and trusted advisor
• Build long-term stakeholder relationships with key clients
• Partner with client service teams to support strategic account planning
• Translate client challenges into solutions
• Ensure client satisfaction and retention

Operational Excellence:
• Oversee new business programs and ensure on time delivery
• Utilize SalesForce to track and manage opportunities, financial documentation, and forecasting
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal cross-functional teams
• Mitigate risks and ensure quality

Leadership & Team Development
• Lead and mentor teams as part of the Medical Communications Leadership Team
• Foster a collaborative and supportive culture
• Provide coaching and development

Industry & Market Leadership
• Drive enhanced awareness of Decera Clinical in the marketplace through client meetings, speaking engagements, and congresses
• Serve as solutions-focused expert, driving recognition of commercialization expertise through attendance and participation in conferences and other forums for professional knowledge
• Stay current on industry trends and support company thought leadership
• Thoroughly understand and monitor the competitive landscape and communicate key competitive information within the organization
