Role SummaryThe Visual Designer works with marketing and creative partners - copywriters, UX designers, content strategists - to create engaging, brand-aligned design concepts across digital and print channels. Key outputs include print collateral, digital and social content, presentations, event materials, data visualizations, and animation.
The ideal candidate is comfortable prototyping and using AI-enabled tools to solve design challenges and improve how marketing materials are created. Focus areas could include graphic arts, digital media, motion design, data visualization, creative technology, video post-production, or experience design.
Responsibilities- Aligns with stakeholders on project requirements and goals before work begins.
- Participates in creative meetings including kickoffs and brainstorming sessions.
- Applies intermediate knowledge of design theory (typography, color, balance, scale) and creative technologies and tools to create multimedia collateral.
- Understands the audience segments for an assigned marketing campaign; tailors design to elicit the desired reaction/response.
- Presents ideas, seeks feedback from peers and senior colleagues, and incorporates that feedback into designed materials.
- Identifies opportunities to use new tools and workflows, including generative AI, to improve design quality and efficiency.
- Develops or contributes to motion and animation solutions for digital communications, presentations and other appropriate channels.
- Considers accessibility requirements and print/production needs when developing creative solutions and files.
- Applies brand and style guidelines to ensure design consistency.
QualificationsRequired:- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
- 2+ years of total relevant work experience.
Preferred:- 2+ years of design experience in financial services, including digital campaigns and marketing communications.
- Strong visual design skills across print, digital and presentation formats, with demonstrated strength in typography, layout, and information design.
- Experience working within established brands and design systems while developing thoughtful custom creative solutions.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft 365, and Figma.

Work FlexibilityThis role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.

$69,500.00 - $118,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$76,500.00 - $130,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$87,000.00 - $148,000.00 for the location of: New York, California
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual's relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
