About the role

The Vice President, Strategic Relationship Management role at Corebridge Financial is responsible for leading a team of relationship managers who provide support for our plan sponsors and their participants. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated team leadership skills, knowledge of institutional relationship management, and a record of success with process improvement. The role is a consultative role and requires a clear understanding of the business needs and relevant challenges of tax-exempt plan sponsors.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, training and development for the Relationship Management team in covered region(s) or market specialty.
  • Partner with internal teams to minimize surrenders, drive positive net flows and improve plan sponsor and participant engagement in respective region(s).
  • Maintain proactive awareness of changes in covered clients’ business, competition, industry, and marketplace to influence and impact satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with plan sponsors, executive management, administrative personnel, and external consultant partners.
  • Lead and collaborate with internal team of service-based associates and partners across the organization to offer solutions to resolve client problems and drive operational accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure that Corebridge delivers on our service and performance agreements.
  • Work with regional leadership on inbound inquiries, plan sponsor presentations, plan design, product, technology, customer concerns, fund changes, revenue requirements, pricing negotiations, Corebridge thought leadership, and plan analytics. 
  • Proactively evaluate client profitability and pricing for appropriateness using all available levers.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to lead strategic initiatives of the firm.
  • Recognized ability to mentor, develop and lead teams of relationship managers with a primary focus on delivering excellent customer service and client retention.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial services relationship management or customer service.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience leading a team.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends in the retirement space.
  • FINRA Series 6, 24 and 63 required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or another related field required.
  • Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of ERISA and succeeding legislation governing qualified and non-qualified pension plan types.
  • Ability to handle difficult client interactions; solving issues and leading escalations appropriately.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to make presentations on complex information.

 

Work Location

  • This position is currently located in our Houston, TX office.

 

Estimated Travel

  • May include up to 25% travel.
