Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?RBC Capital Markets is seeking a Mining Sales Specialist based in Toronto, dedicated to small and mid-cap mining coverage. This role represents a significant growth opportunity for an ambitious professional looking to build specialized expertise in the mining sector while working collaboratively across research, trading, and investment banking.
The successful candidate will focus on deepening relationships with small and mid-cap mining issuers and expanding institutional buy-side coverage across North America and Europe. This position reports directly to the Head of Sales and offers significant visibility and career development potential within RBC Capital Markets.
What will you do?Sales & Marketing- Proactively market RBC's small and mid-cap mining coverage universe to institutional investors across North America and Europe.
- Coordinate and participate in roadshows, investor conferences, and one-on-one corporate and investor meetings.
- Generate and communicate trading ideas and investment themes specific to the small and mid-cap mining sector and maintain regular communication with key corporate and institutional accounts.
Relationship Building- Identify and pursue new corporate relationships in the small and mid-cap mining space.
- Build credibility and trust with mining company management teams and investor relations professionals.
- Establish RBC as the preferred partner for small and mid-cap mining companies seeking institutional investor access and cultivate long-term relationships with institutional investors focused on resource sectors.
Strategic Development & Market Intelligence- Develop targeted marketing strategies for regional and sector-specific opportunities within small and mid-cap mining.
- Provide market intelligence and investor feedback to both corporate and institutional clients, and stay current on mining industry trends, commodity markets, and regulatory developments.
What do you need to succeed?- 3-5 years of relevant experience in institutional sales, trading, investment banking, or equity research and demonstrable exposure to mining or natural resources will also be considered. Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships in a professional services environment and experience working collaboratively across functions including research, trading, and banking.
- Existing relationships with mining corporates or institutional investors preferred but not required for junior levels.
Technical Skills & Knowledge- Strong understanding of equity capital markets, including financing structures and secondary market dynamics.
- Knowledge of mining industry fundamentals, including exploration, development, and production stages.
- Familiarity with commodity markets and their impact on mining equity valuations.
- Solid financial modeling and valuation skills, and proficiency in Bloomberg, FactSet, and Microsoft Office Suite.

$115,000.00 - $165,000.00
