Full Job Description
The Vice President of Development leads the Development organization across the studio's game portfolio. The role oversees Game Development and Product, portfolio planning, resource allocation, organizational structure, staffing, and development operations. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining excellent communication, collaboration, and alignment between Game and Product leadership and team alignment with partner departments like Marketing, Tech, and QA. The VP of Development works with the COO and executive leadership on development strategy, portfolio priorities, organizational planning, and studio growth.

Requirements

Development Leadership
  • Lead the Development organization across the studio's game portfolio.
  • Set development priorities, responsibilities, and decision-making structures with accountability for timeliness and excellence.
  • Lead Product and Development leadership, including performance management, leadership development, and succession planning.
  • Coordinate cross-functional priorities and resolve organizational and development issues.
  • Improve development processes and enforce operating principles.


Resource & Organizational Planning
    • Plan and allocate development resources across live products, new development, technical initiatives, and future projects.
    • Manage workforce planning across internal teams, international resources, contractors, and external partners.
    • Identify operational and organizational constraints and implement process improvements.
    • Support organizational scaling and development capacity planning.


Portfolio & Development Planning
    • Evaluate and prioritize portfolio initiatives and development investments with Product and executive leadership.
    • Define development priorities, sequencing, capacity requirements, and resource allocation.
    • Align development roadmaps with product strategy and business objectives.
    • Provide recommendations on portfolio priorities, trade-offs, and resource requirements.


Executive Partnership
    • Partner with the COO and executive leadership on development strategy, organizational planning, staffing, budgeting, and capacity forecasting.
    • Represent Development in executive decision-making and provide recommendations on priorities, risks, trade-offs, and resource requirements.
    • Translate strategic objectives into development plans and priorities.
    • Provide leadership on Development and Product organization planning and execution.
