Description
ROLE SUMMARY Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the VP Marketing will be responsible for leading the commercial efforts to prepare for the launch of saroglitazar in PBC as well as future indications / additions to the pipeline. You will lead the execution of the brand strategy and launch plans, as well as lead the continued buildout of the marketing team. In this role, you will also partner closely with a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders including Medical, Value & Access, Sales, Business Insights and Operations and other key leaders of the broader ZYDUS US team as the organization transitions into a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Lead the saroglitazar cross-functional launch team providing vision, motivation, support and coaching to build and execute a highly successful launch and drive the business to achieve our ambitious commercial objectives and provide a new treatment option for patients.
- Refinement of the over-arching brand vision and strategy and marketing plans to ensure a successful launch. Optimize resources to ensure achievement of commercial objectives.
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing marketing team, capable of developing and executing an agile and competitive launch plan leveraging digital technology across the HCP, patient and payer segments, and who are committed to developing and strengthening marketing capabilities over time.
- Partner with Sales leadership to ensure strong alignment between brand strategy and field execution.
- Partner with Medical, Regulatory, Legal and Compliance colleagues to ensure all promotional materials and activities are scientifically accurate, compliant and appropriately balanced.
- Prepare appropriate contingency and risk mitigation plans and leverage market and customer insights to out-maneuver competition.
- Prepare for the delivery of the Zydus Therapeutics pipeline, ensuring appropriate plans are developed in line with clinical milestones to drive effective future launches.
- Establish effective working relationships with opinion leaders and other key external stakeholders & be recognized as a trusted partner in advancing quality of care in PBC.
- Establish a disciplined process for measuring launch performance and rapidly adapting strategy based on market feedback and emerging data.
- Collaborate with cross functional partners including Medical, Value & Access, Sales, External Affairs and other relevant functions to ensure effective development and implementation of strategies
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, with MBA, advanced degree or credentials in Marketing preferred.
- 15+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience including ideally both start up and larger biotech.
- In-depth understanding of commercial strategy, methodologies and tools, coupled with experience building, leading and directing brand / marketing teams for specialty or rare disease brands, with demonstrated competency in HCP and patient marketing.
- Exhibit high capability at working collaboratively, thinking strategically
- Comprehensive understanding of drug development and commercialization process, with proven ability to translate clinical data for commercial application
- Experience working effectively with Medical, Access, Sales, Regulatory, Legal and other key cross functional partners.
- Strong leadership and business acumen, with ability to manage multiple priorities, processes, timelines and expectations of multiple stakeholder groups
- Proven ability to recruit, coach, develop and retain high caliber talent
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS The position will require domestic and potentially international travel (up to 30%)
WORK ENVIRONMENT This is a hybrid position, with 3 days of work/week at our offices in Princeton, NJ.
