What you’ll do in the role:
Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Lead Software Engineer in New York, New York to Provide end-to-end software solutions to business processes. Work closely with business users and product owners on application level strategic initiatives, perform feasibility analysis and gather business requirements. Design system architecture, convert business requirements to functional deliverable and implement technical solutions. Drive agile development practices and standards. Provide support for production system and resolve issues raised by application users. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
What you’ll bring to the role:
-Requires a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study.
-Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Computer Programmer, Software Developer, or related occupation in the technology field.
-Employer will also accept Bachelor’s degree in any field with seven (7) years of experience. Employer will accept 3 or 4-year Bachelor’s degree.
-Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills:
- Domain knowledge of Capital Markets including Fixed Income or Equities;
- Fundamentals of Electronic Trading including ECN/ATS;
- Front office exposure including driving the agenda with senior traders;
- Object Oriented programming including Java or Scala;
- Spring framework;
- Reactive programming concepts;
- Messaging technologies;
- Databases including Sybase or DB2;
- Behavior Driven Development or Test Driven Development including Cucumber or Concordion;
- DevOps tools including JIRA;
- Git/BitBucket; and
- Bamboo/Jenkins.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $260,000 and $260,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
