Full Job Description

As Vice President Commercial Operations EU & RoW, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership, direction, and optimization of Commercial Operations across Europe and Rest of World markets for the Business Unit Biopharma. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Head of EU & RoW Commercial BU Biopharma, you will play a key role in accelerating growth, supporting geographic expansion, and ensuring the successful execution of commercial strategies.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Commercial Leadership & Strategy

  • Drive the strategic management of Commercial Operations across EU & RoW markets.
  • Support and guide Country Cluster Leads and country organizations in achieving sales, profit, and growth objectives.
  • Lead operational alignment for product launches and go-to-market strategies across multiple markets.
  • Support regional expansion initiatives in line with business objectives.
  • Foster Commercial Excellence capabilities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Business Performance & Financial Management
  • Monitor country performance and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Oversee budgeting, medium-term planning (MTS), and forecasting processes.
  • Ensure effective management of country P&Ls and overall expenditure control.
  • Drive a performance-oriented culture supported by robust data analysis and sales monitoring

Pricing & Market Development
  • Oversee pricing strategies across tender and retail channels.
  • Support market-specific commercial strategies and sales productivity initiatives.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and licensing opportunities.
  • Ensure alignment of local objectives with overall regional strategy.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop high-performing commercial teams across geographies.
  • Collaborate closely with Global Marketing, Medical, Operational and Commercial functions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, opinion leaders, and industry associations.
  • Provide regular business updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, legal, and company requirements across all markets.
  • Promote risk management, business continuity, and a culture of operational excellence.

Your Profile

Education & Experience
  • University degree in Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a related discipline; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of commercial leadership experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Proven experience in General Management or Business Unit leadership with full P&L responsibility.
  • Experience working in commercial market-facing roles across key European markets.
  • Demonstrated success in launching products across international markets.
  • Experience in biosimilars is considered an advantage.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of reimbursement and regulatory pathways across EU & RoW markets.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and knowledge of distribution channels throughout Europe.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a data-driven and performance-oriented mindset.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Outstanding communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Fluent English; German and/or French are advantageous
