The Vice-President, Client Analytics & Performance Management is a senior leadership role accountable for leading the analytics and performance management agenda across Capital Markets. This role provides oversight for client analytics, financial reporting, and CRM data integration, transforming data into actionable insights that deepen client relationships, improve performance transparency, drive revenue growth, and support informed business decision-making. The Vice-President leads a team responsible for both financial and client analytics, management reporting as well as CRM data integration, ensuring high standards of governance, reporting quality, and performance measurement. This leader supports business and executive stakeholders by delivering analysis, insights, and reporting that inform strategic discussions, business planning, and performance optimization across Capital Markets.

What You’ll be Doing

Client Analytics, Performance Management & Decision Support:

  • Lead the Global Client Analytics Capital Markets team, aligning analytics priorities and performance management capabilities with Capital Markets business objectives.

  • Provide analysis and insight to support business heads and senior leadership in business planning, client coverage decisions, and performance management, with a focus on client profitability, business opportunities, and revenue outcomes.

  • Translate business strategy into credible financial plans, performance reporting and model multi-scenario outcomes, to support evaluation of business outcomes and planning assumptions.

  • Deliver accurate, timely, and consistent financial and management reporting to executives, proactively streamlining processes and enhancing report quality.

  • Act as principal contact for client profitability tracking, ROI/ROE measurement, and capital recycling to unlock new opportunities.

  • Lead analyses to identify trends, performance drivers, efficiency opportunities, and business improvement areas, including analytical input that informs resource-related discussions.

  • Monitor and track performance against annual plans and strategic targets, and provide insight-based recommendations to support business initiatives and opportunity assessment

Client Analytics & Data Integration:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of client analytics logic within the CRM ecosystem, bridging business requirements and technology solutions.

  • Oversee the strategic integration and optimization of multiple CRM platforms, ensuring seamless data flow, enhanced user experience, and alignment with business objectives to drive operational efficiency and customer engagement.

  • Lead the development of a roadmap for consistent, high-quality analytics-based insights across Capital Markets.

  • Define and document business logic for client analytics, including segmentation, scoring, opportunity identification, and performance metrics.

  • Champion data science and analytics initiatives, including predictive modeling, machine learning, and advanced data mining.

  • Ensure alignment of client analytics modeling with broader enterprise initiatives and business development goals.

  • Collaborate with technology teams to communicate analytic requirements and guide CRM enhancements, including testing and validation.

  • Establish frameworks for robust client segmentation, predictive models, and targeted communications to maximize profitability and competitiveness.

Governance, Control & Compliance:

  • Ensure the integrity, consistency, and accuracy of financial standards, policies, and analytics practices.

  • Provide effective financial stewardship and ensure compliance with CIBC policies, standards, and regulations.

  • Oversee quality control and governance of analytics models and reporting.

People Leadership:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a positive work environment and driving professional development.

  • Hire and develop talent, aligning individual capabilities with business goals and succession planning.

  • Provide fair and accurate performance feedback, managing performance expectations and removing obstacles.

  • Ensure compliance with policies and controls, resolving issues promptly and consistently.

Stakeholder Engagement & Special Projects:

  • Collaborate with global business heads, technology partners, and internal stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and support business solutions.

  • Lead and participate in special projects, strategic initiatives, and research studies to keep Capital Markets at the forefront of industry trends.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on business analytics, integrating and aligning business initiatives with advanced analytics mandates.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience in financial reporting, client analytics, performance management, and data integration within Capital Markets or a related environment.

  • Proven leadership in managing teams, driving analytics transformation, and delivering business insights.

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and strategic planning skills.

  • Deep understanding of CRM systems, data science, predictive modeling, and financial management.

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and project leadership abilities.

  • Extensive working knowledge of Financial Services and Capital Markets operations specifically, sufficient to understand client/partner needs and lead the development and implementation of complex programs and projects.

  • Advanced knowledge of strategic, business and financial planning processes.

  • Exceptionally strong influencing skills sufficient to significantly promote and/or negotiate on behalf of Capital Markets in situations that involve recognizing and responding to underlying concerns where others need to be persuaded to accept compromise solutions.

  • Advanced presentation and communication skills sufficient to convey complex conceptual information/ideas on issues involving extensive interpretation and opinion, to communicate with and understand the needs of non-technical internal clients, partners and customers.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills sufficient to creatively develop unique approaches and solutions to resolve complex problems.
