Full Job Description
Incline Insurance Group is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven professional to join our growth leadership team as our VP, Business Development. This role will lead proactive pipeline development, broker and channel relationship expansion, and the institutionalization of business development as an enterprise-wide discipline.

What You'll Do

As a VP, Business Development, you will own Incline's proactive growth engine and partner closely with underwriting leadership to expand our distribution channels and pipeline. Responsibilities include:

Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a centralized database of target MGAs, program administrators, and prospective clients; drive structured, data-informed outreach to convert targets into active opportunities.

Broker & Channel Relationships: Cultivate and expand relationships with reinsurance brokers at priority firms (Howden, BMS, Guy Carpenter, AON, Gallagher, Acrisure, Lockton); partner with underwriters to broaden broker relationship ownership across the team.

Referral Channel Activation: Develop reinsurers and service providers, including TPAs, law firms, and actuarial firms, as structured, trackable referral sources.

Conference & Event Strategy: Own Incline's presence at key industry events (Target Markets, PCI, AIR, InsureTech Connect, WSIA); lead pre-event meeting planning and post-event pipeline tracking to maximize ROI.

CRM & Reporting: Enhance and manage a CRM that provides leadership visibility into relationship ownership, pipeline status, and follow-through; report on KPIs across all growth channels at QBRs and board cadence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with underwriting to coordinate commercial and personal lines outreach; contribute to key account strategy alongside senior leadership.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a disciplined, relationship-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.

Experience: 10+ years in business development, distribution, or market-facing roles within specialty insurance, MGA, or reinsurance.

Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.

Industry Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the reinsurance broker landscape and MGA ecosystem; existing relationships a significant advantage.

Technical Proficiency: Strong CRM discipline and comfort with pipeline reporting and performance management tools.

Communication: Executive presence with the ability to represent Incline credibly at the senior level; strong business writing and presentation skills.

Collaboration: Effective cross-functional partner who can influence without authority and manage multiple priorities across teams.

Mindset: Proactive, structured, and relationship-first - with a track record of building pipelines, not just managing inbound.

Location

This role can be based in Austin, TX or fully remote.
