  • Cultivate relationships within the industry, including brokers and lenders
  • Enhance marketing materials for targeted owner groups through collaboration with development marketing

The Role

The Vice President, Business Development and Owner Relations spearheads IHG's growth strategy across the Americas by deepening partnerships with our most influential, institutional-grade owners and developers. This leader not only strengthens our existing high-value relationships but also proactively identifies, targets, and cultivates new institutional partners who have yet to experience the performance and potential of IHG's brand portfolio.

Your Day-to-Day
  • Develop and enhance engagement with owners and developers (existing and new to IHG) with special emphasis on institutional caliber groups.
  • Lead efforts to improve and expand on owners footprint with IHG - enhancing existing contracts, seeking new acquisitions and development opportunities
  • Work with existing owners to pursue strategic, high-value license renewals, extensions
  • Lead interactions with owners and serve as conduit with IHG operations/commercial/openings for any performance related concerns and opportunities on behalf of ownership
  • Identify and Target owners, management companies, and private/public institutional investors to enter into or expand their ownership with IHG brands
  • Lead effort to set meetings with IHG senior leaders and senior leaders within target organizations
  • Cultivate and maintain extensive industry relationships with brokers, managers, lenders
  • Lead efforts with development marketing to enhance overall marketing collateral for use with targeted owner groups.


What We Need from You
  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related disciplines preferred
  • Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in hotel development, asset management, hotel asset sales, and hotel investment transactions, with strong connections to institutional-caliber owners and development organizations
  • Communication & Leadership: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to inform owners, vendors, senior management, staff, and the broader IHG owner community; able to work independently, manage a heavy project load, and think creatively to solve complex problems.
  • Hotel Investment Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of hotel investment and underwriting models.
  • Deal-Making Skills: Experience with deal structures and negotiating franchise and management agreements.
  • Capital Markets Knowledge: Experience in the hotel debt capital markets.
  • Relationship & Team Skills: Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with owners, partners, and the financial community, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.


Location -Atlanta, GA. Our hybrid work structure is an expectation of three (3) days a week in office. This expectation may be adjusted to evolve with the changing needs of the business.

The salary range for this role is $240,000 to $280,000. This role is also eligible for bonus pay (as applicable). We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K, and other benefits to employees.
