Full Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Readiness Value Stream Supervisor for the Operations Factory Support Team at our Austin, Texas Manufacturing Hub. This position combines leadership, training, operational oversight, and compliance management to prepare the factory team to meet the ramp to rate (R2R) in production over the next 5 years.
This is a first shift position working a 9/80 work schedule.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Supervise and Lead Staff: Manage workshop facilitators, trainers, or team members, providing guidance, motivation, and support to ensure effective onboarding of new employees.
Operational Readiness: Ensure that personnel, equipment, and processes are prepared for scheduled tasks, projects, or missions with minimal disruption.Training and Development: Manage readiness and training, assess skills gaps, and implement work-readiness or technical training solutions.
Program and Project Oversight: Plan, coordinate, and monitor projects or workstreams, including scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
Compliance and Safety: Maintain adherence to organizational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, including documentation and reporting.
Evaluation and Reporting: Monitor hiring performance, evaluate outcomes, and provide progress reports to senior management or stakeholders
Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth execution of readiness initiatives
Required Skills and Education
Prior supervisory or management experience in operational readiness, project management, or training programs.
5 years experience in manufacturing
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective guidance and reporting.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess readiness, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
Organizational and planning skills to manage multiple projects, timelines, and resources efficiently.
Preferred Skills and Education
Bachelor's degree in fields such as Business, Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
Leadership, mentorship, team collaboration, and technical interchange with customers.
Takes initiative and has a closure-oriented nature
Lean/Six Sigma Certified
