What you'll do...
Role summary:
As a Software Engineer III, you will contribute to the design and development of scalable software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. This role involves troubleshooting complex issues, performing root cause analysis, and delivering high-quality code aligned with business requirements. You will manage project components, support continuous integration and deployment, and mentor junior engineers. The position demands strong technical acumen, adherence to coding standards, and a commitment to delivering sustainable, secure, and efficient software that supports business objectives and operational excellence.

About the team:
The Compliance HaMs team develops critical solutions for hazard identification and compliance assessment, enabling accurate classification of potentially hazardous items. They design scalable systems integrating regulatory data sources to enhance compliance intelligence, supporting safe handling and disposal of materials. The team emphasizes reliable, maintainable software through strong technical expertise in platform design, iterative development, and AI integration. Collaboration and continuous improvement are central to their approach, ensuring alignment with broader platform goals while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.

What you'll do:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop high-level designs for small to medium-sized projects.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot business and production issues, performing root cause analysis and developing effective solutions.
  • Write, test, and maintain code ensuring compliance with quality, security, and scalability standards.
  • Manage project requirements by translating business needs into technical solutions and supporting timely delivery.
  • Create and execute test cases, perform defect management, and conduct regression testing to ensure software reliability.
  • Support continuous integration and deployment processes by automating routine tasks and monitoring application performance.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to small engineering teams, fostering knowledge sharing and adherence to best practices.


What you'll bring:
  • Proven experience in software design, development, and delivery using object-oriented programming and iterative development methodologies.
  • Strong technical acumen with expertise in API design, platform development, and component services.
  • Proficiency in debugging, testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
  • Ability to analyze requirements, perform root cause analysis, and develop sustainable technical solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies including generative artificial intelligence and telemetry implementation.
  • Effective documentation and communication skills to support project management and stakeholder engagement.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
