Unstructured Data Account Executive - East

This role has been designated as 'Remote/Teleworker', which means you will primarily work from home.

Job Description:

HPE is seeking an experienced Unstructured Data Sales Specialist to drive growth across AI, analytics, cyber resilience, rapid recovery, and file/object modernization.

This revenue-generating role requires a seller who can create demand, build pipeline, open opportunities, and sell emerging technologies. The ideal candidate pairs enterprise sales expertise with the technical depth to connect customer challenges and differentiated capabilities to measurable outcomes.

Success goes beyond storage refreshes. You will help customers unlock data value, modernize architectures, strengthen cyber resilience, accelerate AI and analytics, and simplify complex environments.

The model will adapt to Geo needs, with one Geo leader accountable and country specialists deployed where needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and own qualified pipeline within assigned strategic accounts and territories.
  • Drive demand and market development by shaping use cases, generating customer interest, and converting whitespace into qualified pipeline.
  • Identify whitespace, competitive displacement opportunities, and new use cases beyond traditional storage refresh cycles.
  • Develop opportunities across:
    • AI infrastructure, inference and RAG
    • Analytics, data lakes and Lakehouse modernization
    • Cyber resilience and rapid recovery
    • Enterprise file and object storage
    • High-performance S3 and hybrid cloud data architectures
  • Lead consultative discovery to understand customer business, application, data, and infrastructure challenges.
  • Translate technical differentiation into faster recovery, stronger AI and analytics performance, lower complexity and cost, and greater business agility.
  • Build a compelling why change, why now, why HPE value proposition.
  • Engage CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, data/AI leaders, infrastructure executives, architects, and application owners.
  • Partner with HPE account teams, Solution Architects, partners, ISVs, marketing, and product teams to advance opportunities and close business.
  • Orchestrate account teams, partners, ISVs, marketing, and product stakeholders around priority markets, use cases, and growth plays.
  • Develop and execute competitive strategies against incumbent and emerging data infrastructure providers.
  • Represent HPE at customer workshops, executive briefings, industry events, and partner engagements.
  • Deliver against a balanced scorecard spanning business results, pipeline, ecosystem growth, AI alignment, and market development.
  • Establish the role and market foundation in 1H FY27, then scale knowledge and best-practice sharing in 2H to prepare Storage sellers for deeper FY28 engagement.

What We're Looking For
  • 7+ years of successful enterprise technology sales, specialist sales, or business development experience.
  • Experience with selling to Enterprise accounts required
  • Demonstrated ability to create pipeline and close complex enterprise opportunities.
  • Experience selling storage, data infrastructure, AI infrastructure, analytics, data protection, or related technologies.
  • Strong consultative and value-based selling skills.
  • Ability to understand technical architectures and translate them into clear business value.
  • Proven ability to sell new or disruptive technologies where customer education and market creation are required.
  • Strong executive communication, storytelling, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Competitive mindset with experience developing displacement strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively across account executives, technical teams, partners, and executive stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel for customer and partner engagements.

Preferred Market & Technology Knowledge

Strong familiarity with several of the following is preferred:
  • Enterprise file and object storage
  • S3, NFS and SMB
  • AI infrastructure, inference and RAG
  • Data lakes, Lakehouse's and analytics
  • Backup, recovery and cyber resilience
  • Hybrid and multi-cloud data architectures
  • High-performance data infrastructure

Experience with-or competing against-Dell Technologies, NetApp, Pure Storage, VAST Data, WEKA, Cohesity, Commvault, IBM, Scality, Cloudian, or similar providers is highly desirable.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a hunter, storyteller, business builder, market creator, and ecosystem orchestrator.

You uncover needs before a storage project exists, connect them to differentiated solutions, create executive urgency, and convert conversations into qualified pipeline.

Technically credible but not the Solution Architect, you move easily from AI, analytics, recovery, and data architecture to executive discussions of risk, economics, competitive advantage, and transformation.

Above all, you turn technology differentiation into customer preference, pipeline, and revenue.

This range reflects the minimum to maximum combined base and target-level sales compensation that would be paid if the hire performs at 100% of their sales plan. Of that on-target pay amount, the mix of base salary and target-level sales compensation is 50%/50%."
