About the role

About the role

Through our New Graduate Tech Development Program (TDP), Intact is proactively cultivating a vibrant talent ecosystem for the future. In partnership with technology leaders, we are building the skills of tomorrow.

As a Unit Manager within the TDP, you will be the direct people leader and coach for a group of program participants throughout their rotations. While rotation managers oversee day-to-day work and deliverables, you will partner closely with them to set goals, gather feedback, support development, and manage performance across the program duration. You'll also provide consistent guidance and wellbeing support, helping to ensure a cohesive, high-quality experience from rotation to rotation.

In addition to people leadership, you will contribute to the broader success of the program by leading key initiatives that support program delivery and the participant experience (e.g., recruitment activities, engagement and communications, stakeholder coordination, events, and continuous improvement). You'll work closely with the Program Manager, rotation leaders, and key partners to strengthen and evolve the program over time.

This hybrid position is available in our Toronto office.

What you'll do here:

  • Serve as the direct manager and consistent support for a group of program participants across their rotations.
  • Partner with rotation managers to set goals, gather feedback, and manage performance and development across the program duration.
  • Foster a high-engagement environment through visible, people-first leadership.
  • Lead and deliver program initiatives that support effective execution and a strong participant experience.
  • Play an active role in recruitment, supporting participant selection and contributing to a strong candidate experience.
  • Build and maintain relationships with rotation managers, HR partners, and business contacts to support participant success.
  • Support preparation of materials and updates for program stakeholders and leadership forums.

What you bring to the table:

  • Experience in people leadership (coaching, feedback, performance management and/or development planning) with a strong employee-first mindset.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate new graduates, with an understanding of the unique needs, challenges, and aspirations they face as they launch their careers.
  • Strong facilitation skills and confidence running training sessions and structured conversations with participants and leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver initiatives with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Strong judgment and professionalism when handling sensitive performance or wellbeing topics.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across levels.
  • An understanding of the current technology landscape, including key trends, emerging technologies, software development practices, and career pathways, enabling you to guide participants toward meaningful opportunities and development experiences that set them up for long-term success.
  • Experience supporting early talent programs, talent acquisition, or event delivery is an asset.
  • No work experience in Canada required, but must have authorization to work in Canada.
