Qualifications

• Current registration with Sonography Canada as a Canadian Registered Generalist Sonographer (CRGS) is mandatory.
• Previous experience in abdominal, obstetrical, and gynecological scanning is essential.
• Proficient with PACS applications is required.
• Experience in a hospital or health care Diagnostic Imaging department is necessary.
• Basic computer skills must be demonstrated.
• Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities are needed.
• Strong organizational and collaborative skills are essential.
• Effective communication skills are required, both orally and in writing with patients and colleagues.
• Commitment to patient safety in practice is crucial.
• Interest in continued professional education is expected.
• Assets include experience in vascular scanning, musculoskeletal imaging, Doppler, and cardiac scanning.
• Bilingualism (French/English) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional diagnostic services to patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Minimize risks to self and patients through peer consultation and supervision of X-ray students.
• Apply knowledge of X-ray technology in accordance with relevant health legislation and standards.
• Utilize effective communication to interact with patients and health care professionals.
• Participate in collaborative care models within the Diagnostic Imaging department.
• Engage in continuous improvement processes as per LEAN ideology.
• Demonstrate commitment to maintaining patient safety protocols at all times.
