In this role, you'll oversee the day-to-day performance of our commercial operations team, with a strong focus on construction execution, team leadership, and client service. This position requires significant travel (approximately 75%), including remote areas and extended rotations.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS MANAGERAs a Commercial Operations Manager, you oversee multiple commercial construction and restoration projects, leading Commercial Superintendents, project teams, and field staff to keep schedules, priorities, and resources aligned. Each day, you monitor progress, coordinate construction schedules, resolve issues, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality and client standards. You build strong relationships across the organization, foster collaboration and accountability, and support teams working in remote areas with clear communication and a steady, solutions-focused approach. Your leadership helps drive performance, improve processes, and deliver reliable results for our clients and communities.
Qualifications- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction or restoration management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with strong communication, coaching, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated success managing budgets, forecasts, and branch or departmental performance
- Strong understanding of construction practices, including project scheduling and coordination; experience in new home construction is considered an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and comfort using operational or project management software
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret and manage budgets and margin performance
- Experience in coordination of multiple projects at the same time is an asset
- Post-secondary education or certification in construction management or a related field preferred
- Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract
- Ability to complete work activities that may involve material handling, lifting, climbing, and the use of personal protective equipment including respirators, safety footwear, and other required gear
- Ability to travel and work in remote areas while coordinating multiple active projects
