Job Description
The Transportation Supervisor leads a skilled team of 12 20 Class A and Class B commercial vehicle operators. The team operates company owned vans, stake trucks, and a fleet of Class A/B motor vehicles to move a diverse inventory-including parts, flight hardware, calibrated instruments, classified items, hazardous materials, ordnance, oversized loads, and custom spacecraft shipping containers-between internal facilities, test sites, customers, subcontractors, and vendors. While most deliveries are within the Waterton campus and surrounding area, the role also supports numerous out of state missions, culminating in the transport of completed spacecraft to launch sites via military aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
Resource Management
• Collaborate daily with dispatch to align manpower and vehicle assets with customer schedules and priority shipments.
• Optimize routing and equipment utilization to meet tight delivery windows and cost efficiency goals.
Field Oversight
• Provide on site supervision for loading, unloading, and securement of high value and mission critical items.
• Conduct real time inspections to verify proper tie down, handling, and protection of sensitive cargo.
Regulatory Compliance
• Enforce strict adherence to all Federal (DOT, FMCSA), State, local, and company transportation policies.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of hazardous material regulations, ordnance handling, and classified material safeguards.
• Ensure driver qualifications, vehicle inspections, and documentation (e.g., manifests, DOT logs) are current and accurate.
Safety & Quality Assurance
• Lead safety briefings, incident investigations, and corrective action plans.
• Promote a culture of zero defect handling for calibrated instruments and flight hardware.
Team Leadership
• Mentor, train, and evaluate operators on best practices, regulatory updates, and customer service standards.
Working Environment
• Predominantly field based with frequent travel throughout the Denver metro area and occasional out of state missions.
• Interaction with classified and sensitive materials requires adherence to security clearance protocols.
• Irregular hours may be required to meet mission critical delivery timelines.
Mission Impact
The Transportation Supervisor ensures that critical aerospace components and completed spacecraft reach their destinations safely, securely, and on schedule-directly supporting program success and mission readiness.
Basic Qualifications
-Experience with and in depth knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
-Experience with material handling and load securement
-Experience with leading a team
-Ability to obtain and maintain a TS / SCI security clearance

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $66,100 - $116,495. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $76,000 - $131,675. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
