Position Summary:

The position plans, organizes, and is accountable for managing projects and providing oversight of personnel and activities within MOW Track subdivision's which consists of Track Construction, Subway Maintenance, System Maintenance and Track Cleaning.

Responsibilities:

Selected incumbent will be responsible for providing managerial direction and coordinating activities related to track maintenance and/or construction in specified geographic areas to ensure safe and reliable service is maintained. Incumbent will provide timely coordination and implementation of safety procedures. If necessary, will assume the duties and responsibilities of the General Superintendent in their absence. The selected incumbent must be willing to work all tours, weekends, holidays and respond to emergency situations 24/7, as well as be prepared to walk the underground or elevated tracks.

Education and Experience:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of six (6) years of related professional experience, of which at least three (3) years must have been managerial/supervisory experience, or
  2. A satisfactory equivalent of the combined education and experience.


Desired Skills:

Extensive knowledge of Railroad Industry Safety Standard, material procurement and labor contracts in Transportation Operations: Construction, Power Distribution, System and Subway Maintenance. Knowledge of scheduling track outages and forecasting the needs of material, capital and safety precautions.

Selection Method:

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, interview, and written assessment. All selected candidates will be subject to a full background investigation that includes employment and education. Discrepancies may lead to dismissal.
