This is a Threat Hunt DevOps Engineer position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for providing specialist cyber expertise and creating solutions that protect the organization's systems and networks against actual and potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
Threat Hunt is looking for an experienced DevOps engineer to join its team. Threat Hunt’s mission is to identify attacks against the Morgan Stanley network, engineer detection strategies, and reduce risk to Morgan Stanley assets. As a Threat Hunt engineer, you will be tasked with developing new large-scale analysis dataflows, analysis systems, and analytics to help defend Morgan Stanley’s networks. The team leads in agentic AI cybersecurity tooling and extensively leverages their own self-managed on-prem GPU compute to combat cybersecurity and fraud threats against clients.
What you’ll do in the role:
- Leverage coding and system design expertise throughout the DevOps lifecycle to implement and optimize system features in the Threat Hunt technology stack.
- Expertise building and maintaining containerized systems.
- Passionate about new technology in automation and observability in complex systems.
- Self-motivated individual who will take ownership of tasks and project.
- Excited about collaboration with others in a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Manage time and tasks to effectively.
- Eagerness to understand complex problems and requirements, an aptitude for translating these problems into workable designs and solutions, and a keen eye for detail.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Strong development experience involving complex systems using modular coding in Python.
- Data engineering experience.
- Knowledge of modern distributed systems architecture (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
- 5-12 years of relevant hands-on experience.
- Eagerness to learn new systems and technologies.
- Understanding of Linux systems and OS fundamentals.
- Capable of self-teaching, self-testing, and independent problem-solving.
- Python ecosystem experience (pypi, uv, etc.).
- AI infrastructure and agentic tooling experience.
- Cybersecurity experience.
- Data science experience (pandas, SQL, etc.).
- Site reliability engineering experience (testing, resilience, fault-preventative architecting).

Salary range for the position: $140,000 and $195,000 per year. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
