Full Job Description
Basic Function

Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI), an HF Sinclair business, located in Mississauga, Ontario is seeking a temporary full-time Sr Financial Analyst. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for statutory reporting, audit coordination, intercompany accounting, and close financial activities for multiple legal entities. This role partners with external auditors, accounting service providers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and timely completion of close, audit, and statutory filing obligations. The position also drives process improvements and supports strategic finance initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen the control environment.

Job Duties

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes through the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness and adherence to corporate close timelines
  • Participate in the accounting review of monthly financial statements, ensuring their integrity through proper reconciliation and analysis, including month end support and variance analysis
  • Own intercompany accounting activities, including transactions, reconciliations, and issue resolution, ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely close of intercompany balances for closing
  • Own foreign jurisdiction statutory financial preparation, audit liaison and filing, ensure compliance with US GAAP, local regulatory requirements and timely completion of all filings
  • Manage the end-to-end audit process for multiple entities, serving as the primary liaison between external auditors and internal stakeholders to facilitate efficient audits, timely resolution of audit inquiries, and issuance of clean audit opinions within established reporting deadlines.
  • Project execution leadership (authoritative and non-authoritative), partner with internal function teams (Tax, Treasury, technical accounting etc.) and external service providers to address complex accounting matters for process enhancement, support strategic business initiatives
  • Coordinate transfer pricing analysis (management fee allocation) across multiple legal entities, partnering with Tax, HR, Finance and relevant teams to ensure compliance and adhere to corporate policies.
  • Compliance with IFRS and HFC accounting and corporate policies and procedures, internal controls and SoX, including identification of non-compliances, their investigation and resolution
  • Other Ad hoc analysis / tasks required


Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Leadership experience (either authoritative or non-authoritative)


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Public accounting, Statutory financial preparation, audit experience


Education Level

  • Bachelor's degree
  • CPA (or equivalent) accounting designation preferred


Required Skills

  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to integrate accounting standards, company policies and procedures, internal and SoX controls, operational issues
  • Solid knowledge of SAP (FI, CO, PM, MM), Outlook, EXCEL, WORD, BW or BI
  • Working confidence with different technologies/software
  • Understanding of SoX and financial controls
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills to manage and resolve issues and maintain business partner relationships
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to multitask and work independently


Work Conditions

  • Office based role based out of our Lubricants Corporate Office at 2310 Lakeshore Road West in Mississauga; may require extended hours at month ends
  • This is a temporary full-time contract for approximately 12 months in length
