Full Job Description
Basic Function

HF Sinclair in Anacortes, WA is seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner. This person will perform the job under minimal supervision and with a high level of accountability for results, leads complex and high level Human Resources projects and process for a site or large client group. Identifies and resolves conflicts between business and HR demands; progression to this level is dependent upon the needs of the business.

This is an onsite role working a 9/80 schedule.

Job Duties

  • Ensures HF Sinclair's policies and procedures are followed. Provides interpretation and appropriate communications within the Company and promotes employee understanding of programs, policies, and objectives
  • Provides support of employee and labor relations issues under general oversight of more experienced staff in a union or non union environement (i.e. dispute resolution, bargaining, grievance administration and Union Committee action items)
  • Conducts investigation into employee issues, formulates conclusions, and drives to resolution consistent with legal guidance, CBA provisions and/or company policy
  • Reviews and updates Human Resources Policies and Procedures as needed to ensure they remain current
  • Leadership of the site Community Relations Program and/or Community Advisory Panel and leverages the opportunity improve company image within the community. (depending upon assignment)
  • Proposes, secures approval and implements HR systems that resolve complex business or human resources challenges
  • Independently leads cross functional teams (internal or external to HR) in areas that are not the incumbents area of expertise
  • Coaches and mentors managers on the proper ways to navigate employment issues
  • Credibly and constructively challenges and lead the business and internal HR processes
  • Will be responsible for administrating and coordinating HR policies and procedures as needed by the business


Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of five years of related Human Resources experience is required.

Preferred Experience:
Human Resources Business Partner experience in a unionized industrial and/or manufacturing environment.

Education Level

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a Technical field related discipline is required or related work experience in lieu of the degree (five years of related work experience) is required.

  • Advanced level of knowledge in Human Resources principles and ability to apply this knowledge as it pertains to the company
  • Ability to read and appropriately interpret information from multiple sources.


Preferred Skills:

Professional certifications such as SHRM - SCP, SPHR, GPHR, CCP, GRP, CEBS or other similar external certifications.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Leads project teams. Informal or formal leadership of other Human Resources professionals.

Work Conditions

Office based with occasional refinery visits, and with up to 10% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, and out-of-doors environment (depending upon assignment). Subject to all weather and varying road conditions.

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movement, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 20lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 10lbs, and the ability to wear personal protective equipment.

Salary Range: The salary range includes the minimum, and maximum base salary values. A candidate's offer can vary depending on differentiating factors, including but not limited to education, training, or experience.

This position has a salary minimum of $126,400 and maximum of $158,000.
