OverviewThe Telecommunications Lab Lead is responsible for performance verification, repair, diagnostics or calibration of electronic equipment. Performs modular and component level repairs, upgrades and product modifications using schematics, diagnostic tools and procedures that comply with standard industry practices. Maintains accurate records of tests and services performed, enters required information in the company's data base (PERFECT) / Microsoft Dynamics AX.
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostics or calibration and verifies performance of assigned products
- Repairs equipment to the component and modular level
- Executes automated test and diagnostic programs
- Maintains product upgrades or modifications as directed
- Maintains product library and accessory updates as directed
- Performs other related duties as assigned, in accordance with business needs and organizational goals.
- Operates company vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and local traffic laws, including Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; adhere to company driving policies, safety standards, and participate in mandatory random drug and alcohol screening programs.
Qualifications
- Ability to apply knowledge normally gained through four (4) years experience in electronic troubleshooting and repair with an additional years experience in a specialization
- Must have PMEL certification, associate degree in electronics or formal technical courses with equivalent knowledge and certification
- Knowledge and use of instrumentation and diagnostic programming including the use of automated test programs
- Must have a working knowledge of industry standards and quality practices for assigned product segment
- Ability to perform the required physical elements of the job (listed below). Must be detailed oriented and could work multiple tasks assigned
- AA Degree in electronics or formal technical courses with equivalent knowledge and certification required
- Four (4) years experience in electronic troubleshooting and repair with an additional years experience in a specialization
- PMEL certification preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
All positions will require, to some degree, the physical abilities described below to perform the essential functions of the job in a warehouse
- Work the expected hours, consistently arrive at work at the agreed time and follow Company rules and guidelines regarding breaks and meal periods. Full time is typically considered to be 40 hours per week
- Communicate effectively both orally as well as written. Ability to be understood in face-to-face communication, in person or remote, to speak with level of proficiency and volume to be understood over a telephone or computer.
- Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors. Prolonged periods of standing and working at a computer. Work in a low to moderate noise environment with frequent deadline pressures.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds and be able to move equipment with help up to 150 pounds.
- Be able to read documents. Ability to read small print and view a computer screen for prolong periods, prepare, or inspect documents and operate office equipment.
- Ability to hear average or typical conversations and receive ordinary information. Communicate effectively via phone
