Description & Requirements

What's the role?

At Bloomberg Engineering & CTO Finance, we are committed to providing world-class support to our business partners in Engineering and CTO by providing insight on business performance, financial oversight, and thought leadership.

We're looking for a Finance Transformation Team Member to modernize how Engineering & CTO Finance plans, allocates, and reports. In this role, you will design and automate core finance processes end-to-end-then layer on analytics that surface clear recommendations. You will partner across Engineering, CTO, and Finance to turn complex cross-functional work into scalable, auditable systems that improve both efficiency and decision quality.

We'll trust you to:
• Take a product mindset and identify, prioritize, and deliver transformation opportunities and tooling across Engineering & CTO Finance.
• Design, build, and continuously improve dashboards, workflows, and automation that are intuitive, scalable, and self-serve.
• Publish release notes, how-to guides, and lightweight training to support adoption of new tools and processes.
• Own end-to-end delivery of transformation workstreams: gather requirements, translate them into solutions, test outputs, document changes, and measure impact.
• Partner closely with Engineering & CTO Finance and firmwide transformation stakeholders to align on requirements, dependencies, and outcomes.
• Turn data into decision and action-ready insights: frame choices, quantify trade-offs, and recommend actions for CFOs and business leaders-while modernizing reporting and allocations through automation.
• Create efficiencies in periodic, cross-functional, and inter-department reporting: automate and streamline recurring work using tools like Alteryx; design robust data models and taxonomies in close partnership with stakeholders.
• Improve transparency in Engineering and CTO allocations by analyzing current processes, creating lineage reporting from senders to receivers, and strengthening methodologies for stronger financial compliance.

You'll need to have:
• 7+ years of relevant experience in finance and/or technology within complex organizations.
• Bachelor's degree (preferably in finance, engineering, or math).
• Demonstrated transformation, process improvement, or product-minded delivery experience.
• A systems thinker with a builder's bias-comfortable moving between architecture, data, and process details.
• Proven process automation & BI expertise; experience with Alteryx and/or Tableau (or similar), and comfort with data modeling and taxonomy design.
• A strong sense for UX in dashboards/tools-able to simplify complex models into decision-ready views.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder partnership, and influence; confident presenting to CFOs and business leaders and translating technical details into clear decisions.
• Solid grasp of engineering financial planning/analysis, allocations, and cost drivers.
• A track record of building repeatable, controlled processes with documentation, testing, and change control.
• High ownership, crisp prioritization, and a strong sense of where automation and standardization create leverage.
• Ability to collaborate across the organization to align on outcomes, priorities, and delivery plans.

We'd love to see:
• Flexibility to work in an entrepreneurial and fast-moving environment
• Familiarity with the Bloomberg Terminal
