Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Technical Specialist, Networks to join our IT team in Langley, BC.

Reporting to the SeniorManager, IT Infrastructure, you will be responsible for working collaboratively with various IT stakeholders to build and expand our network platform with the overall objective of supporting our business tasks and goals.

You will be responsible for:
  • Designing, implementing and continuously improving PFG's network infrastructure.
  • Ensuring reliable and highly available network architecture for mission-critical applications.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving network issues in collaboration with other IT teams.
  • Partnering across teams to deliver network solutions supporting business and IT initiatives, communicating designs, plans, and impacts to stakeholders.
  • Integrating core networking with hybrid (VMware) environments and cloud providers (AWS, Azure).
  • Implementing and maintaining network security controls to protect network integrity.
  • Administering and planning upgrades for network platforms (firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, load balancers, etc.).
  • Leading network changes end-to-end, including peer review and rollback planning.
  • Managing capacity planning and lifecycle activities to support growth and resilience.
  • Driving network automation and configuration management (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git-based workflows).
  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring, and contributing to team standards and best practices.
  • Maintaining clear documentation of current and future network designs.
  • Participating in after-hours on-call rotation.


You have:
  • 4+ years of networking experience supporting multi-site, fault tolerant networks and telecommunication solutions.
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Cisco CCNP, CCIE certifications or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent understanding of Layer 2 and 3 Protocols including Spanning Tree, Multicast, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF.
  • Excellent understanding of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
  • Excellent understanding of network architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise network platforms such as Cisco, Meraki and Fortinet (or equivalent), including routers, firewalls, and wireless solutions.
  • Hands on experience with SD-WAN technologies.
  • Experience working with and implementing Zero Trust Network architecture.
  • Troubleshooting skills and the ability to document on the go.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimum supervision.
  • Programming skills and knowledge of design patterns for various programming and scripting languages is considered an asset.

$94,552.00 - $118,190.00
The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience and other factors.
