Influence key decision makers in the commercial construction process including: architects, Landscape Architects, Owners, State, County and City Departments, Engineers, Builders, General Contractors, Developers and Sub Contractors.
Manage, track and distribute significant projects to increase sales opportunities for our customer base throughout a multi-month or multi-year sales cycle.
Distributor Support: Drive demand at the distribution level through training events, “tent days”, and showroom displays. Build relationships at all levels of distribution including branch managers, inside and outside sales, and purchasing departments.
Build relationships with the current Preferred Contractor base. Identify gaps in the market and identify target contractors for conversion. Train our contractors on and off the roof when appropriate. Support contractors with roof evaluations, adhesion tests, and project specific specifications.
Own the success of our customers. Work closely with the local Preferred Contractor to pull regional project opportunities and new specifications through the customer base.
Accountable for utilizing commercial construction data base (Dodge), industry events and GAF website for lead generation. Also, utilize CRM (Salesforce) and current marketing tools (AIA presentations, literature, samples, etc.) to support selling efforts.
Industry involvement: Actively participates, where appropriate, in associations and attend trade events, such as local contractor association, local AIA chapter, and local facility manager and/or building owner associations.
Qualifications Required
Minimum HS Diploma with at least 5 years of demonstrated commercial sales experience in a building materials environment.
Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred with at least 5 years of demonstrated commercial sales experience in a building materials environment.
Specification Sales experience of 5+ years.
Qualifications Preferred
Industry experience and insights related to commercial construction, building materials, hardscapes and liquid applied systems is a must.
Advanced communication and organizational capabilities required.
Strong presentation and public speaking skills required.
Proficient use of commercial construction databases such as Dodge Analytics and Salesforce CRM tools.
Ability to influence others is essential.
Proficiency with Google Business Suite as well as proficient use of commercial construction databases such as Dodge Analytics and CRM tools such as Salesforce.
Valid driver’s license is required.
