Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience running large programs and managing teams.
  • Technical judgement and understanding of distributed systems.
  • Domain expertise in database engines/data platforms (e.g., relational databases, NoSQL, distributed storage, query engines, or managed cloud services like Spanner, AlloyDB, Cloud SQL, Bigtable).
  • Track record of operating within a Leadership Triad to influence product roadmaps, drive strategic alignment, and manage complex multi-team dependencies.
  • Strong analytical and systems-thinking mindset, with experience designing program metrics, tracking launch readiness, and driving engineering operational excellence.
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to synthesize technical details into trade-offs, risk assessments, and executive-ready narratives.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. As a Technical Program Manager (TPgM) in Databases, you will be a strategic scale multiplier operating within the leadership Triad (Engineering, Product, TPM).
