Provide the appropriate experience and perform instructional duties for the Interservice Physician Assistant Program (IPAP)/ Bachelor and Master of Science Physician Assistant Curriculum. Includes classroom/lab, multiple preparation hours, and office hours for assisting students one-on-one. Work location is at the MEDCoE, Department of Graduate Education, Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), Fort Sam Houston, TX.
Courses include Clinical Competencies for the Physician Assistant Profession as outlined by the national Commission on Certification of the Physician Assistant (NCCPA), the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant and the guidelines of the Physician Assistant Education Association.

31 Plans, refines and assists in presenting graduate hours of Physician Assistant education31 Develops, evaluates, modifies and instructs graduate level classes31 Assist in development and updating instructional materials 31 Review and revise course 31 Develop test questions/student assessments for both Phase 1 and Phase 2 examinations31 Maintain and update test item databank31 Leverages emerging technologies and evidence-based medical literature in the presentation of the classes31 Reviews class content and teaching aids 31 Identify physician assistant-related research topics and ideas and assess the feasibility of each project31 Supervise the development of protocols, collection of data and evaluation of results31 Conduct classroom and laboratory instruction31 Utilize data from student critiques and quality improvement peer reviews31 Prepare samples, set up, and administer/conduct laboratory exercises31 Assist in development, set up, administration, and grading written and laboratory practical examinations31 Perform statistical analysis on exam results31 Conducted instruction in a virtual environment using programs such as Blackboard, and Microsoft TEAMS31 Upholds appropriate university requirements 31 Assists in conducting approximately 80 hours of practical exercises31 Provides direct patient health care31 Provide SME consultation for Computer-/Web-Based Training instructional designers and programmers31 Perform course administrative functions 31 Provide academic counsel and Phase 2 Management for 8-12 graduate students31 Provides input to faculty deliberations regarding student status changes31 Perform laboratory training logistics activities
Educational and Experience Requirements:
31 Technical Instructor IV/Site Lead: Doctoral Degree (minimum) in Physician Assistant Studies31 Current certification/licensure as Physician Assistant (e.g. NCCPA certification)31 Clinical Experience: Minimum 10+ years of clinical practice as Physician Assistant required31 Teaching Experience: 10+ years Teaching, mentoring, or precepting experience minimum
Other Qualifications and Experience
31 Minimum requirements are an NCCPA certification, masters degree, and graduate education degree or three years experience teaching at a graduate-level physician assistant program, a medical school or an equivalent health education program)31 Must have a National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians site code31 Must have an active affiliation with NAEMT and a training background in Tactical Combat Casualty Care31 Must be a member of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) and accredited by AAALAC International 31 Must complete ALAAS training within 10 days of contract award31 Must be physically fit to the extent they can perform all tasks required of the students31 Must complete a Workplace Occupational Health Assessment within 30 days of start date31 Special Operations Forces and critical care background preferred
31 Must have served in current theater of operations in a medical role I or II assignment totaling at least 24 months 31 Must be an authority in physician assistant clinical practice (PA-C with not less than 10 years of clinical practice) 31 Must be an expert in administration and management of an accreditation evolving database 31 Maintains NCCPA certification 31 Maintains PA professional privileges/credentials at local military medical treatment facility31 Have extensive professional knowledge and skill 31 as a NCCPA certified physician assistant31 performing minor surgical and resuscitation procedures.31 in clinical pharmacology and human anatomy and physiology.31 in performing and documenting a complete physical examination of patients31 in laboratory and radiological diagnostic testing31 in using complex simulation technology (Laerdal Corporations SimMan patient simulator and arterial/venous access mannequins)31 in counseling and managing students in a rigorous graduate level program31 conducting graduate level research and applying experimental theories 31 of educational requirements for graduate level accreditation programs31 in adult educational theory and diverse instructional methodologies31 to meet an academic position at the professor level with the affiliating university31 Maintain professional credentials and provide direct patient care 31 Abide by all credentialing processes required31 Comply with MEDCoE and MTF policies regarding personal appearance and conduct. 31 Meet Continuing Medical Education requirements as directed by MTF31 Personnel Security investigation required31 Immunization Screening required
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
