The Role

This is a strategic customer outcomes role that operates at the intersection of cybersecurity expertise and executive business advisory. The Technical Account Manager serves as a Business Outcome Leader, Strategic Advisor, Consultant, Adoption & Value Architect, and Cyber Resiliency Coach for Proofpoint's most strategic customers. You will engage with a variety of stakeholders - including senior business leaders - translating security posture into business risk and regulatory exposure. This role demands the ability to drive measurable risk reduction, security maturity, and cyber resilience outcomes while building deep relationships that position Proofpoint as an indispensable strategic partner.

Your day-to-day

  • Lead strategic engagements with customer stakeholders, articulating security outcomes in terms of business risk and regulatory exposure.


  • Develop and deliver presentations that incorporate risk narratives, industry benchmarks, and outcome-based reporting to demonstrate measurable value realization.


  • Architect and drive customer adoption and value realization strategies.


  • Coach customers on security strategies with Proofpoint solutions, emphasizing speed to detect, contain, and recover from threats.


  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Professional Services, Technical Support, Sales Engineering, and Account Management to orchestrate holistic customer outcomes.


  • Use independent judgement to inform strategic recommendations and implement solutions for complex problems.


What You Bring to the Team

  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, customer success, technical consulting, or strategic advisory roles with demonstrated executive-level engagement.


  • Experience developing and delivering executive-level business reviews, risk narratives, and outcome-based reporting using industry benchmarks.


  • Knowledge of the threat landscape including email security, cloud security, data loss prevention, identity protection, and insider threat management.


  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.


  • Strategic thinking and consultative approach with the ability to develop long-term customer roadmaps aligned to business objectives.


  • Project management capabilities with experience driving complex, cross-functional initiatives to completion.


  • Knowledge of email authentication (DMARC, SPF, DKIM), cloud security architecture, and enterprise security operations is a plus.
