Job DescriptionThe Impact you will have in this role:The Product Manager within DTCC's Corporate Tax Department serves in a dual-capacity role, combining corporate tax advisory responsibilities with product leadership for DTCC's Tax Services business. From a corporate tax perspective, the role supports compliance with tax withholding and reporting regulations across DTCC's business lines. This includes advising on tax considerations for new business initiatives, providing guidance to Tax Operations on corporate action events, and partnering with onboarding teams to ensure clients are properly documented. From a product leadership perspective, the role supports the management and growth of DTCC's Global Tax Services business, which helps clients meet U.S. tax withholding obligations and enables investors to obtain favorable withholding tax rates on non-U.S. securities held at DTC. As part of the Product team, the Associate supports business analysis, requirements documentation, stakeholder engagement, and execution of regulatory, compliance, and client-experience initiatives. The role also supports business planning, revenue reporting, product commercialization, client adoption, pricing analysis, and identification of new revenue opportunities across Tax Services.
Your Primary Responsibilities: - Tax Advisory and Compliance
- Analyze withholding and reporting tax regulations, income tax treaties, and securities prospectuses to ensure tax withholding and reporting compliance
- Provide day-to-day tax support to Operations on withholding tax matters
- Collaborate with product managers, Operations, and in-house counsel to develop service enhancements and compliance procedures
- Product Delivery and Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a key product member of an Agile squad, partnering with internal teams to implement new features, review proposed changes, incorporate feedback, and communicate impacts to stakeholders
- Participate in cross-functional project meetings to review strategy, operational impacts, risks, dependencies, and implementation considerations
- Business Management and Growth
- Lead annual business planning, volume and revenue forecasting, pricing reviews, and ongoing tracking of business revenue and expenses
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue, reduce costs and improve the client experience
- Plan and coordinate DTC's annual tax conference
- Act as the primary business contact for internal control functions, Operations, and Technology teams
- Risk, Controls, and Governance
- Identify risks that may affect project objectives and escalate issues to appropriate management.
- Ensure adherence to DTCC's product development methodology, including applicable stage-gate processes for specific project
- Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned product areas and, when required, attend client meetings to provide expertise and guidance
- Mitigate risk by following established procedures, monitoring controls, identifying key errors, and demonstrating strong ethical behavior
- Maintain strong ethical standards and support a culture of accountability, control discipline, and risk awareness
- Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately
Qualifications: - Minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success: - Strong presentation, writing, and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level presentations and slide decks
- Knowledge of and experience with U.S. tax withholding regulations, including Sections 1441, 1446, 871(m), 305(c), and 302, as well as Forms 1099 and 1042-S reporting
- Knowledge of U.S. and global securities market practices related to income processing, tax implications, and tax relief or reclaim procedures for ADRs and other DTC-eligible foreign securities
- Ability to explain complex tax, product, and operational concepts clearly to both internal and external audiences
- Ability to perform process analysis and develop efficient process improvements or automation solutions.
The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Actual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.
