Job Summary
The Task Manager 2 is an experienced technical team leader responsible for managing end-user and workstation support activities, coordinating technical staffing, maintaining client relationships, and driving high-quality task execution. The position also requires extensive experience in complex network operations and in evaluating technology and system configuration alternatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Establish and improve processes used to manage technical tasks and projects.
• Support performance appraisals, employee feedback, training-needs assessment, and staff skill development.
• Recruit, identify, interview, select, and coordinate technical staff for task execution.
• Work closely with clients to resolve contract, development, and personnel issues.
• Lead teams of end-user and workstation support staff, including responsibility for workstation security administration.
• Plan work, control projects, monitor progress, and provide status reporting.
• Prepare technical specifications and guide staff responsible for developing deliverables.
• Develop work standards, evaluate employee performance, and review team products for quality assurance.
• Evaluate hardware, software, and system-configuration alternatives through feasibility and cost/benefit analysis and prepare recommendations.
• Support complex network operations, end-user troubleshooting, workstation OS/software installation and testing, network troubleshooting, help desk SOP optimization, and workstation security.
Requirements
• 8 years of experience supporting complex network operations, including end-user problem solving, workstation operating system and software installation/testing, network troubleshooting and testing, Help Desk-related SOP optimization, and workstation security protocols.
• 5 years of experience identifying alternatives for new hardware, software, and system-configuration approaches; determining feasibility; performing cost/benefit analysis; and developing final recommendations.
• 4 years of experience in client relations, working closely with clients to resolve contract, development, and personnel issues.
• 4 years of experience primarily as a technical team leader of at least 5 end-user/workstation support staff engaged in all aspects of workstation support, including security administration.
• 3 years of experience establishing processes to support task or project management.
• 3 years of experience providing performance appraisal and employee feedback support.
• 3 years of experience assessing employee training needs and assisting employees in skill development.
• 3 years of experience recruiting, identifying, interviewing, and selecting technical staff and coordinating staffing for task execution.
