Job Summary
The Task Manager 1 leads end-user and workstation support activities while coordinating staffing, client relationships, employee development, task execution, and technical problem solving. The role requires practical experience supervising support teams, improving help desk processes, evaluating technology alternatives, and maintaining workstation and network security.
Key Responsibilities
• Establish and improve processes used to manage technical tasks and projects.
• Support employee performance appraisals, feedback, training-needs assessment, and skill development.
• Recruit, identify, interview, select, and coordinate technical staff required for task execution.
• Maintain strong client relationships and help resolve contract, development, and personnel issues.
• Lead end-user and workstation support staff, including teams responsible for workstation security administration.
• Plan work, control projects, track progress, and report status.
• Prepare technical specifications and guide staff in developing required deliverables.
• Develop work standards, evaluate performance, and review team products for quality before delivery.
• Identify hardware, software, and system-configuration alternatives; assess feasibility and cost/benefit; and develop recommendations for users and management.
• Support complex network operations, including end-user troubleshooting, workstation operating system and software installation/testing, network troubleshooting, help desk SOP optimization, and workstation security.
Requirements
• 4 years of experience supporting complex network operations, including end-user problem solving, workstation operating system and software installation/testing, network troubleshooting and testing, Help Desk-related SOP optimization, and workstation security protocols.
• 3 years of experience in client relations, working closely with clients to resolve contract, development, and personnel issues.
• 3 years of experience primarily as a technical team leader of at least 5 end-user/workstation support staff engaged in all aspects of workstation support, including security administration.
• 3 years of experience identifying alternatives for new hardware, software, and system-configuration approaches; determining feasibility; performing cost/benefit analysis; and developing final recommendations.
• 2 years of experience establishing processes to support task or project management.
• 2 years of experience providing performance appraisal and employee feedback support.
• 2 years of experience assessing employee training needs and assisting employees in skill development.
• 2 years of experience recruiting, identifying, interviewing, and selecting technical staff and coordinating staffing for task execution.
