Job Summary

The Linux Engineer 3 is responsible for supporting and securing enterprise Linux/UNIX infrastructure and associated network services within a large organizational environment. The role requires strong experience in systems deployment, network operations, security, troubleshooting, DNS services, and technical team leadership.

Key Responsibilities
• Deploy and support computer system applications in client/server network environments.
• Administer and support UNIX/Linux operating systems and TCP/IP networking, including IPv4 and IPv6.
• Administer network management protocols and related standard tools.
• Provide support for telecommunications, local area networks, computer security, and established security practices.
• Evaluate existing networks, identify deficiencies, and recommend performance improvements.
• Administer DNS, DNSSEC, and IronPort public-facing technologies.
• Administer, operate, maintain, and secure large-scale computer networks in an enterprise environment.
• Troubleshoot complex network problems and implement effective solutions.
• Provide technical leadership or supervision to support successful infrastructure operations.

Requirements
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership or supervisory role.
• 3 years of experience in a large organization deploying computer system applications in a client/server network environment.
• 4 years of experience with computer network telecommunications, UNIX/Linux operating systems, and TCP/IP protocols (IPv4 and IPv6).
• 4 years of experience administering network management protocols and related standard tools.
• 4 years of experience supporting telecommunications, local area networks, computer security issues, and established security practices.
• 4 years of experience evaluating networks, identifying deficiencies, and recommending performance improvements.
• 4 years of experience administering DNS, DNSSEC, and IronPort public-facing technology.
• 4 years of experience in a large organization administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer network.
• 4 years of experience troubleshooting network problems and providing solutions.
