  • Collaborate with other IT teams for integrated operational support
  • Ensure business continuity through disaster recovery solutions and storage replication technologies
  • Identify and implement process improvements for enhanced efficiency.

Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineering Senior Group Manager with experience in High Availability systems specializing in z/TPF Administration, Stratus Systems and I-Series technologies to oversees a Global engineering team responsible for maintaining the very large z/TPF, Straus and I-series estate. Including installing, configuring, and troubleshooting the hardware components, operating system and related software with the goal of ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

Manage, mentor, and develop a team of z/TPD, Stratus and I-series System Programmers.

System Management:

Oversee the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of z/TPF Stratus and I-Series software. Including extensive experience with the IBM Security Portal and Vulnerability management

Performance Tuning:

Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize performance.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including software errors, hardware failures, and system crashes.

Security:
Implement and maintain comprehensive security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data and system integrity.

Capacity Planning:
Plan for future system needs and ensure adequate resources are available to meet business requirements.

Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Collaboration:
Work with other IT teams, such as application support, database administration, and network engineering.

Continuity Of Business:
Expert level familiarity with disaster recovery solution, and specifically storage replication technologies.

Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Skills Required:

Technical Expertise:
Deep understanding of z/TPF, VOS and IOS operating system and other related tools.

Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.

Leadership:
Proven leadership experience, including managing, mentoring, and developing a team.

Communication:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with other teams.

Industry Knowledge:
Familiarity with mainframe hardware and software, including Crypto, FICON,I-series and Stratus systems utilities.

Minimum Qualification:
  • Overall 15+ yrs of exp with minimum of 8 years of experience in z/TPF Administration


Education:
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred
