Job Description
You will be a System Safety Engineer for the System Safety Engineering Team which is responsible for ensuring the safety and mission success of the F-22 aircraft.
What You Will Be Doing
As the System Safety Engineer you will be responsible for leading safety analyses and supporting the System Safety Program Plan throughout the aircraft development lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop, maintain, and execute the System Safety Program Plan.
Conduct Functional Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Preliminary Hazard Analysis, System Safety Analysis, and Software Hazard Analysis.
Perform quantitative and qualitative risk assessments and trade studies to optimize design choices and recommend controls.
Coordinate system safety activities with design teams, suppliers, internal management, and external customers.
Provide technical guidance on hazard mitigation and collaborate with adjacent disciplines to support program objectives.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering or related engineering degree.
Experience in a related engineering role.
Desired skills
Military or civilian flight experience
Knowledge of MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, ARP-4761, and/or ARP-4754
Knowledge of FAA and military regulations and processes
Previous experience writing technical reports on complex subject matter
Experience with military or government programs
Knowledge of statistical analysis methods
Aircraft system safety engineering experience
Training or experience related to system safety or airworthiness
Model-based system engineering (MBSE) training or experience
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $73,400 - $129,260. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $84,300 - $146,165.
