Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Airworthiness Certification Engineer to support safety-critical aerospace programs. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with airworthiness standards and integrating certification processes with software and system-level development activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong regulatory knowledge, technical expertise, and experience working in safety-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Support airworthiness certification activities by ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory standards and processes.
Apply expertise in AC 17-01 and MIL-HDBK-516C to evaluate and validate certification artifacts and system documentation.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure alignment between software, system design, and certification requirements.
Review and analyze safety-critical systems and documentation to ensure adherence to quality and compliance standards.
Provide technical guidance on certification processes and support resolution of compliance-related issues.
Contribute to continuous improvement of certification and engineering practices.
Required Skills:
Proven experience in airworthiness certification.
Strong knowledge of AC 17-01 and/or MIL-HDBK-516C processes.
Experience working in safety-critical environments.
Preferred Skills:
Background in software development and/or software architecture.
Familiarity with EN-EZ Office or similar engineering tools.
Education / Experience:
Education and experience are typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited program in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor's degree) along with 9 or more years of related work experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree with 7+ years or a PhD with 4+ years of relevant experience may be considered. In the United States, ABET accreditation is preferred, though not required.
