The Work
We are seeking multiple level, experienced Systems Engineers to support multiple Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) programs and participate in all phases of the systems engineering process (system design, requirements development, requirements decomposition, modeling and simulation and test). The engineer will leverage RMS systems engineering processes and procedures while performing their respective engineering and verification activities.
In this important role, you will collaborate in an Agile environment with other engineering disciplines and program personnel. A desire to learn and adopt emerging technologies and tools will be key to success in this role.

Basic Qualifications
• BS Degree in Engineering or STEM field with minimum of 2 years' professional experience
• Experience with one or more of the following: system design/test, requirements development, requirements decomposition, modeling and simulation, test)
• Ability to obtain & maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level.
Desired skills
• Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle (conceptual, design, development, integration, verification, validation, and sustainment)
• Experience in requirements development: capturing, analyzing, allocating, and managing functional and performance requirements; familiarity with standards such as MIL-STD-499, IEEE-1220/1471, DO-178C, or ISO/IEC 15288.
• Proficiency in system design methods: functional decomposition, trade studies, architecture development, and interface definition
• Hands-on experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., SysML, IBM Rhapsody, PTC Integrity, MagicDraw, Cameo Systems Modeler).
• Ability to build and analyze modeling & simulation artifacts (MATLAB/Simulink, Modelica, STK, Simscape, or custom simulation environments).
• Experience planning, executing, and analyzing test activities: test concept development, test procedures, test data collection, and reporting; knowledge of test automation frameworks is a plus.
• Strong quantitative analysis skills; ability to perform trade-off studies, reliability/availability modeling, and performance budgeting.
• Capability to interpret simulation results and use them to drive design decisions.
• Excellent written and oral communication for producing clear requirement documents, design specifications, and test reports
• Experience working in cross-functional teams (hardware, software, program management, customers, suppliers)
• Ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Familiarity with configuration management, change control, and risk management processes
• Experience using project tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, DOORS, Confluence, Microsoft Project)
• Proficiency with requirements management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS)
• Basic scripting or programming skills (Python, MATLAB, Java, C/C++) for automation, data analysis, or model development
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
The base range for this position in New Jersey is $91000 - $172488..
