Lockheed Martin (LM) is seeking a resourceful Systems Engineer to become a member of the Systems Engineering and Integration Team. Specifically focused on Functional/Electrical Interface Development.

As a Systems Engineer, member for the SEIT Interface team, you will:
  • Work as liaison between a diverse array of teams from several technical disciplines both within and outside of Lockheed Martin
  • Facilitate and coordinate technical discussions regarding translation of the system requirements and architecture into a set of agreements on critical design parameters for each party to meet in order to fulfill customer needs
  • Evaluate, communicate, document, and maintain the agreed upon design solution between teams
  • Focus on the functional/electrical interfaces (electrical/signal definitions, wiring diagrams/schematics, circuit diagrams) between systems and subsystems in a highly complex system-of- systems environment
  • Work both independently and as part of an integrated team to execute detailed action plans to accomplish major efforts involving multiple teams
  • Develop CAMEO models of the subsystem and interfaces
  • Support requirements reviews, and other model based system engineering activities relevant to the interface


The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience working with various engineering disciplines (i.e. mechanical, electrical, safety, test, etc.) to develop System Engineering Products
  • Experience in design, integration and/or test of electrical systems
  • Must have a Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance; US Citizenship required


Desired Skills

  • Experience in Python or VTL (Velocity Template Language)
  • Experience in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
  • Experience in CAMEO (or other Model Based System Engineering Tool)
  • Experience in generation of high-level interconnect diagrams using electrical or cabling software tools (such as Zuken E3)
  • Experience in Atlassian Tools (Confluence and Jira)
  • Knowledge in Systems Engineering concepts and processes
  • Writing requirements documentation and coordinating document release through approval process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent social skills, and ability to create consensus among peers while forming relationships with team members
  • Knowledge of DOORS

  • Knowledge of Interfaces
  • Experience in systems engineering, preferably in a defense or aerospace environment

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
