Range Systems Section Supervisor

Summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Range Systems Section Supervisor to provide leadership, management, and technical direction to supervisors and technicians supporting operations and maintenance (O&M) activities in Data Handling and Range Safety. This role is responsible for ensuring the workforce is properly staffed, trained, qualified, and equipped to meet contract requirements, government standards, and the terms of the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. The supervisor will oversee daily operations, promote compliance and safety, and ensure reliable performance of range systems and associated support functions.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead operations and maintenance personnel are scheduled to meet contract and mission requirements and personnel are recalled when needed to meet emergency requirements.
  • Guarantee the performance of all operations and maintenance personnel are effectively and proactively monitored to detect deviations and deficiencies and provide constructive feedback where required.
  • Ensure the infrastructure and facilities are properly prepared, checked, and ready to meet mission requirements.
  • Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is performed in a timely and effective manner consistent with established standards and requirements.
  • Ensuring infrastructure degradation, failures, and maintenance outages are documented and reported in a timely way consistent with Amentum contract standards and requirements.
  • Ensures material, supplies, and property are ordered, stocked, and controlled to meet mission requirements consistently.
  • Confirm compliance with the quality program requirements and standards and participate in the contract and government process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical advice to management, staff, and government personnel on issues, anticipated operability, maintainability, or logistical problems, potential new technologies, and participate in the planning and integration of new or modified facilities and systems.
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, businessmanagementdiscipline, or four years of direct experience
  • Five or more (5+) years ofexperience with operation and maintenance of instrumentation, facilities, and infrastructurewith at least five years at a supervisory level
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with multiple customer organizations, local government, and employees on operational, technical, and personnel issues
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize work despite changing schedules and meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of local and remote environment range missions
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Location

  • Onsite at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA

Preferred Qualifications & Desired Competencies

  • Knowledge of equipment manuals, technical orders, product specification sheets, blueprints, drawings, and engineering concepts
  • Knowledge of the type of operations, calibrations, and maintenance of the instruments supporting Vandenberg Space Force Base mission
  • Proficient at electronic, mechanical, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining system equipment
  • Must be comfortable with managing a multi-cultural workforce
  • Must be comfortable with operating a lean, high-performance organization within government provided facilities

Physical Demands

  • Travel required to domestic US sites 6 up to 10%.
  • Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Required to sit and stand for long periods (Frequent).
  • Required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent).

Secret

The salary range for this role is:

$91,000 - $138,750
