Systems Administrator Reports to: Planning and Systems Vice President FLSA Status: Exempt | Supervisory Role: NoAbout the Systems Administrator RoleAs our Systems Administrator, you hold the keys to Trustco Bank's digital engine room. You are responsible for the high-level oversight of our production Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring our Active Directory, SQL Databases, and File Servers operate with flawless precision. Reporting to the Planning and Systems Vice President, you aren't just maintaining systems-you are designing the standards that keep our financial institution secure.
Key Responsibilities- The Infrastructure Authority: Own the maintenance and configuration of Active Directory, Group Policy, and SQL Databases. You are the final word on server health and reliability.
- The Subject Matter Expert (SME): Act as the "Level 3" specialist, troubleshooting advanced issues that span workstations, servers, and complex applications.
- The Vendor Liaison: Partner with third-party providers to integrate, troubleshoot, and maximize the performance of external applications used by the Bank.
- The Cross-Functional Collaborator: Work side-by-side with our Networking, Security, and Programming teams to implement high-impact projects and configuration changes.
- The Strategic Advisor: Help lead the charge in setting system standards and long-term goals. You will analyze and recommend the hardware and software that will define our 2025 roadmap.
- The Technical Mentor: Elevate the entire IT department by training help desk technicians and personnel, while building a robust "Source of Truth" library of technical documentation.
- Responsible for overseeing and mentoring junior team members.

QualificationsRequired- A bachelor's degree in computer engineering or equivalent level of education and experience.
- Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure.
- At least five years of work experience in all phases of computer operations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Well - organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work to time sensitive deadlines.
- Ability to work well independently and in groups.
- Working knowledge with Microsoft Office Programs; Excel and Word.
- Fluent in English; bilingual a plus
- Access to reliable transportation
Preferred- Master's degree in computer engineering related field.
ScheduleFull-time position; Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm; (additional hours as required)
Physical Demands: Primarily sedentary; includes use of standard office equipment.
Travel: Occasional travel using personal vehicle; overnight trips may be necessary. Valid driver's license required.
