Job Summary

This is a supervisory position that provides project management support and assistance for the operation, maintenance, and construction of transmission, substation, and distribution system improvement projects; develops, maintains, upgrades, and operates a secure SCADA system; and develops and maintains a reliability-based predictive and preventative maintenance program for transmission, substation, and distribution equipment, including procedures and maintenance schedules.

Education and Experience
Required for System Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or five years' experience with demonstrated advanced Engineering knowledge in the electric utility field; or any combination of education, training, and on-the-job experience that provides an equivalent level or knowledge, skills, and training required to perform the job duties of this position effectively.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD and the ability to operate various engineering software applications, including distribution analysis software, fuse coordination software, and work order system.
  • Valid driver's license. Other driving-related requirements may apply depending on the nature and scope of responsibilities associated with driving on behalf of CRPUD.
Preferred for System Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with five years' experience in the electric utility field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon.
Required for Senior System Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in power and 10 years' experience with demonstrated advanced Engineering knowledge in the electric utility field; or any combination of education, training, and on-the-job experience that provides an equivalent level of knowledge, skills, and training required to perform the job duties of this position effectively.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon.
  • Proficient in protection settings for SEL relays; Milsoft analysis; substation design, construction, and testing; Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; and the ability to operate various engineering software applications, including distribution analysis software, fuse coordination software, and work order system.
  • Valid driver's license. Other driving-related requirements may apply depending on the nature and scope of the responsibilities associated with driving on behalf of CRPUD.
Salary
  • System Engineer: $46.22 - $65.92 per hour depending on qualifications
  • System Engineer w/P.E.: $121,368 - $173,014 per year depending on qualifications
  • Senior System Engineer: $136,365 - $194,438 per year depending on qualifications
