What this job involves:

As the Sustainable Portfolio Lease Assessment Program Lead, you will drive the implementation of key sustainability programs in line with regional and global targets, ensuring all projects align with sustainability goals such as carbon reduction, energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and waste minimization. This position requires you to focus on new and innovative technologies and processes to deliver alignment to long-term glidepath through our portfolio management process including collaboration with landlords, industry experts, and others while helping to identify the best tools and mechanisms to measure, monitor and report sustainability data, projects and performance. What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Lead the implementation of key sustainability programs in line with regional and global targets, ensuring all projects align with sustainability goals such as carbon reduction, energy efficiency, renewable energy adoption, and waste minimization
  • Work across cross-functional teams and influence change to ensure sustainability programs are integrated into business processes, particularly portfolio strategy, lease negotiations, and site selection decisions
  • Standardize sustainability procedures, processes, and protocols at the regional level to ensure compliance with global frameworks and consistent implementation across all teams while maintaining flexibility for local requirements
  • Provide technical and strategic guidance to regional teams to ensure the effective adoption of sustainability practices including training, coaching, and hands-on support for complex initiatives
  • Work with Global leads defining global best practices aligned with sustainability strategy and setting implementation processes and procedures at the regional level that enable scalability and consistency
  • Focus on new and innovative technologies and processes to deliver alignment to long-term glidepath through our portfolio management process including collaboration with landlords, industry experts, and technology providers
  • Help to identify the best tools and mechanisms to measure, monitor and report sustainability data, projects and performance while ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and alignment with reporting standards
  • Assist in developing leading practice, market insights and emerging trends in all aspects of sustainability including regulatory developments, industry benchmarks, and emerging best practices
  • Conduct lease assessments to evaluate sustainability considerations including energy performance, green building certifications, renewable energy access, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with real estate, legal, and procurement teams to integrate sustainability requirements into lease negotiations, renewals, and new site acquisitions
  • Develop and maintain sustainability assessment tools, scorecards, and frameworks that enable consistent evaluation of portfolio properties against sustainability criteria
  • Support the development of business cases and ROI analyses for sustainability investments including energy efficiency retrofits, renewable energy procurement, and green building certifications
  • Engage with landlords and building owners to drive improvements in building performance, renewable energy access, and sustainability certifications across the leased portfolio.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field demonstrating strong academic foundation in sustainability principles
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in sustainability program management, real estate sustainability, corporate sustainability, or related fields with proven track record of successful program implementation
  • Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks and standards including LEED, ENERGY STAR, GHG Protocol, Science Based Targets, and other recognized sustainability certifications and reporting frameworks
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority to drive adoption of sustainability initiatives across diverse business functions
  • Technical knowledge of building systems, energy management, renewable energy, and carbon accounting with ability to provide credible guidance to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing data, identifying trends, and developing actionable insights to inform sustainability strategy and decision-making
  • Excellent project management capabilities with ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex sustainability concepts clearly to executive-level stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and external partners
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) with advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
  • Demonstrated success working in fast-paced corporate environments where agility, collaboration, and client service are essential to achieving sustainability goals.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Energy Management, or related field demonstrating advanced knowledge and commitment to the sustainability profession
  • Professional sustainability certifications such as LEED AP, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Sustainability Associate (SA), or similar credentials demonstrating expertise and professional development
  • Experience in corporate real estate or facilities management with understanding of lease structures, portfolio management, and real estate decision-making processes
  • Knowledge of renewable energy procurement mechanisms including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Virtual PPAs, Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), and on-site generation
  • Experience with sustainability data management platforms and ESG reporting tools such as ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, carbon accounting software, or sustainability management systems
  • Background in corporate sustainability reporting including experience with frameworks such as CDP, GRI, TCFD, or other ESG disclosure standards
  • Understanding of emerging sustainability regulations including building performance standards, carbon pricing mechanisms, and climate disclosure requirements
  • Experience conducting energy audits, building assessments, or technical evaluations of real estate assets to identify sustainability improvement opportunities
  • Track record of developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), playbooks, or operational frameworks that drive consistency in sustainability program delivery
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience building relationships with landlords, vendors, industry associations, and sustainability experts to advance program objectives
  • Knowledge of circular economy principles, waste reduction strategies, and sustainable procurement practices relevant to real estate operations
  • Experience supporting science-based target setting, net zero commitments, or other ambitious climate goals in corporate environments.

145,300.00 - 178,100.00 USD per year
