Maintenance Supervisor

Career Opportunity:

Primarily responsible for supervising the maintenance mechanics in his specific area of responsibility (i.e. paper mill, pulp mill, power department, etc.). The supervisor is responsible for the safety, training and assignment of work to the maintenance personnel in his area. He/she is also responsible for maintenance spending in his area along with the other members of the maintenance team (maintenance planner, operating department maintenance coordinator and operating department superintendent). The supervisor has the responsibility for seeing that his/her mechanics conduct themselves in accordance with all corporate, division and mill safety and environmental rules and procedures. In addition, he/she is responsible for making sure that the mechanics in his/her area are using the proper parts and equipment to complete all maintenance work appropriately for their safety and those of the other people in the area and that the equipment in his area is maintained in such a way that the equipment runs reliably and is cost effectively maintained. The supervisor is often expected to be the chief troubleshooter on the equipment in his/her area.

Visit work sights to review mechanics work and provide leadership

Trouble shooting equipment and providing direction to mechanics

Visit storeroom to look at parts

Working night & weekend duty assignments supervising mechanics

Attend training & other meetings

Hold toolbox safety & morning assignment meeting

Attend daily planning with area maintenance team

Filling out daily time sheets for mechanics

Conduct safety audits of mechanics & work area

Attend field day meetings

What you need to succeed:

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or three to five years related experience and/or training. An equivalent combination of education and on the job experience instead of an Associate's degree is acceptable.

The salary range for this position is $93,000.00 - $155,000.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 15 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
