Full Job Description

General Manager

This role will assist in the planning and ramping-up of a new facility and will manage the site in coordination with company ground support, sales, and operations. Compliance with standards, policies, EHS recommendations, and corporate-level guidelines are high priorities. Fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders & ensuringeffective communication and alignment are also major components of the successful implementation of this role.

The successful candidate will liaise with architects, municipality representatives, and general contractors, and will build the new team from scratch, including sales, supply chain, engineering, operations, and service. Focus on Continuous Improvement is desirable.

Ultimately, this role will supervise five-eight direct reports including Operations, Production

Planning, Finance, EHS, Quality, HR, and Purchasing. He or she will lead with clear target settings through uncertain and fast-changing timelines in the short and long-term. This role will hold responsibility for profit & loss.

Promoting a culture of safety, risk awareness, integrity, and respect for water & other natural resources are high priorities. This role will ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) among employees, institute corrective actions, when necessary, promote good health & hygiene habits, comply with regulations, participate with EHS initiatives, and collaborate on incident investigations.

Qualifications/Skills

Education:

Master’s degree or equivalent in fields closely related to Business Administration,

Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or relevant field.

Experience:

15+ years in a similar role, ideally in operations, or general management roles

Proven experience in ramping up new production units or full sites

Experience liaising with architects, municipalities, and contractors

Track record of building and leading cross-functional teams from scratch

Skills:

ERP systems management

Strong leadership and team development capabilities

Strategic planning and execution

Budgeting, cost control, and financial forecasting (P&L)

Sales and commercial strategy development

Greenfield experience, thus has a track record as GM/Ops manager ramping up a new factory including functions like sales/service, engineering, SC, production, etc.

Ability to lead reports through uncertain and fast changing times, thus guiding with clear target settings through ramp-up phase
