We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager for our Dalton, Georgia facility. This position will be on 1st shift which is 7:00AM-7:30PM, Monday through Thursday. Pay range will be $90,000 - $120,000/year.Position SummarySupport the establishment of an integrated, efficient, and agile global supply chain organization by establishing robust inventory management practices, supporting the SIOP process, and fostering strong communication with Customer Service, Purchasing, Production, and Quality. Utilize the Techmer ERP system for daily scheduling and material movement activities, as well as forecasting site demand and constraints. Lead Shipping & Receiving, Material Control/Allocation, and Logistics. Coordinate with other sites and Operations leaders to provide timely and reliable material flow and efficient inventory management supporting OTD targets. Ensure the highest level of inventory accuracy.
Directly oversee daily receipt and shipment execution, material flow to and from production, FIFO compliance, warehouse organization, and workforce deployment between Shipping, Receiving, and Allocations to support production and meet customer due dates.
Education and ExperienceB.S. in Supply Chain Management with 1-2 years of experience, or 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or another supply chain discipline preferred.

Reporting and AccountabilityReports to the Site Manager. Manages all on-site inventory activities, Shipping, Receiving, and Allocator/Material Movement employees. Responsible for non-WIP inventory and supports scheduling and production as needed. Supports SIOP and other Supply Chain processes, coordinates with procurement to drive raw material demand planning, and drives standardized processes and transactional discipline in scheduling and material management.
Key Responsibilities1. Supply Chain Leadership and Cross-Functional Alignment- Manage site Supply Chain personnel and processes, including Allocations and Shipping & Receiving.
- Support SIOP processes, including forecasting, line capacity analysis, and inventory management.
- Identify opportunities to standardize processes within the plant and drive inventory initiatives related to working capital targets.
- Support refinement of ERP parameters, including raw material lead time and route accuracy, to reflect manufacturing capabilities.
- Establish clear communication practices among Scheduling, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Production.
- Support proactive communication for production changes or delays related to raw materials, staffing, quality, or other constraints.
- Drive improvements to OTD by balancing plant efficiency requirements with customer needs.
2. Daily Warehouse Operations and Staffing- Supervise the staging and shipping of materials.
- Plan the daily warehouse schedule by reviewing shipping requirements and balancing production needs.
- Optimize workforce deployment among Shipping, Receiving, and Allocations, moving material handlers based on operational priorities.
- Approve departmental overtime as needed.
- Ensure allocation orders are picked in a timely manner and coordinate online production priorities with the Allocations team.
3. Shipping, Freight, and Customer Requirements- Coordinate shipments to and from external warehouses to support production allocation and intercompany transfers.
- Use third-party logistics providers and freight brokers to identify consolidation and transportation savings opportunities.
- Coordinate intercompany orders and logistics for the site.
- Coordinate scheduling of outbound carriers using Freightview.
- Ensure daily preparation and accuracy of bills of lading, packing lists, export documentation, and other required shipping documents.
- Perform annual carrier evaluations.
- Ensure freight charges are uploaded daily and maintain the freight log.
- Coordinate daily shipping schedule changes with Customer Service so customers receive timely updates.
- Verify that all customer packaging and labeling requirements are met.
- File freight damage claims with carriers.
4. Receiving and Quality Coordination- Maintain communication with Receiving personnel to verify correct weights, part numbers, and receipt accuracy.
- Ensure Certificates of Analysis are provided to Quality Control.
- Ensure received materials are properly labeled and scanned into inventory.
5. Inventory Management and Control- Ensure consistent implementation of receiving, shipping, barcoding, FIFO, put-away, picking, and partial consolidation practices.
- Ensure accurate cycle counting and physical inventory of all accountable inventory.
- Manage slow-moving and aging inventory, coordinating disposition decisions with the Site Manager, Purchasing, and Customer Service.
- Remain accountable for inventory accuracy and optimization of warehouse layout and function.
- Establish processes that maintain inventory accuracy by both quantity and location.
- Conduct warehouse physical inventory twice annually and introduce cycle counting when new processes are implemented.
- Conduct weekly ABC inventory management through Dynamics 365.
- Review and resolve spot inventory issues involving materials that cannot be located.
6. Packaging and Non-Inventory Purchasing- Purchase packaging materials.
- Maintain and update the packaging Kanban system.
7. Intercompany Transfers- Work with buyers to meet intercompany transfer needs in terms of volume and timing.
- Handle transfer requests from other Techmer sites.
- Review inventory and production requirements with the Scheduler before confirming transfers.
- Distribute approved transfer orders to material handlers.
8. People Leadership, Training, and Development- Manage Allocations and Shipping & Receiving personnel or supervisors, including mentoring, coaching, annual goal setting, reviews, disciplinary actions, recruiting, and onboarding.
- Support cross-training of material personnel to provide flexibility during demand fluctuations.
- Ensure supervisors are trained to certify forklift drivers.
- Complete annual salary reviews for all direct reports.
- Maintain current forklift certification records for employees and ensure a certified trainer is available for required training.
9. Safety and 6S- Establish and maintain a culture of safety through adherence to safety guidelines and cardinal rules, frequent communication, recognition, and encouragement. Support required safety observations and interactions in PM Vitals.
- Oversee safe work practices, including use of proper tools and PPE.
- Ensure carriers follow site safety requirements, including wheel chocking and brake locking.
- Ensure required safety training is completed.
- Maintain warehouse organization consistent with 6S expectations.
10. Supply Chain ImprovementLead cross-organizational continuous improvement projects in procurement, logistics, customer service, and enterprise resource planning as assigned. Travel as needed to support project deployment at other locations. Provide thought leadership in change management and site impacts related to broad process changes. In assigned projects, the employee may report indirectly to project managers outside the site.
