JOB SUMMARY
Works under general supervision reporting to the Director Materials Management. The Manager Supply Chain - Laboratory is responsible for implementing and maintaining an inventory management program for the Laboratory departments at a system level. This position will be responsible for management, analysis, forecasting and reporting.

    3 years of hospital or multi-hospital supply chain inventory control and/or distribution experience, preferably in a laboratory setting.
    Additional experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
JOB DUTIES
  • Develops and manages all aspects of the inventory program for the Laboratories.
  • Responsible for ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of all reagents, supplies, consumables, minor equipment, parts, paper, forms, and any other inventory item(s) related to the operation of the Laboratory to ensure quality services are provided in a timely manner.
  • Monitors utilization of all supplies and coordinates adjustments to stock levels respectively. Establishes and maintains accurate PAR levels in MMIS.
  • Distributes information regarding the availability of supplies and other pertinent information to all laboratory staff.
  • Responds to inquiries and provides assistance to other departments, hospital staff and external representatives in the implementation and performance of job function.
  • Assures compliance with accreditation standards with regards to storage of supplies.
  • Ensures that the laboratory staff and clients are aware of procedures that provide for efficient ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of all laboratory supplies.
  • Ensures adequate stocks of inventory while allowing for no wastage of inventory, reagent or product due to shelf storage expiration.
  • Conducts staff performance appraisals, mentors, counsels and disciplines as is appropriate. Assists with the interview and orientation process for potential and new hires.
  • Coordinates and performs physical inventory of all laboratory supplies as required.
  • Responsibilities extend and apply to any and all locations and sites as which the Laboratory may maintain, distribute, and/or utilize inventory in all of its various forms.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
