The Opportunity:
The Supervisory Paralegal position is a great opportunity for paralegals looking to develop their management skills in support of high visibility cases for the Department of Justice. Responsibilities:
The Supervisory Paralegal directs and supervises the work of paralegals and other support staff, particularly on major paralegal support efforts, such as large legal research projects or major in-courtroom support. In this role you will:
Ensure that paralegal and support staff work meets contract and attorney requirements and is delivered on time.
Frequently interact with DOJ Contracting Officer Representative (COR), Case Managers, trial attorneys, client agency staff, etc., as well as with other Contractor components.
Troubleshoot and performs quality control spot-checks.
Formulate administrative and technical procedures for getting the work done.
Report to Project Supervisor or Project Manager; may also have significant contact with COR, Government Case Manager, trial attorneys and staff, client agency staff, and opposing counsel.
Perform complex legal and factual research.
Design and develops systems and procedures for tracking, controlling, and managing case files, exhibits, and other case-specific materials.
Assist trial staff in coordination with expert witnesses and litigation consultants.
Arrange for access to appropriate DOJ libraries and other legal research facilities.
Coordinate with other Contractor support components, including data processing support staff, in order to accomplish work.
Qualifications:
Required:
Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study, an equivalent level of legal training or experience or an equivalent level of education may be substituted.
3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, including trial experience.
1+ years of experience in automated litigation support.
Supervisory experience, including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys.
Sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
Hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure, in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment.
Customer-focused, congenial, professional, can do attitude for working with staff and government clients.
Demonstrated experience working in eDiscovery document review platforms such as Relativity, Clearwell, iCONECT, Casepoint, Everlaw, Casemap, Oncue, etc.
Desired:
Certification(s) in Relativity, ACEDS, and other eDiscovery related technical certifications.

$70,800 - $148,600About CACI International
