The Supervisory Media Digitation Manager oversees a multidisciplinary team that delivers digitization, digital asset management, collections data, and rights and reproduction services to the museum.
In this position, you will:- Lead the development and implementation of the museum's Unit Digitization Plan in alignment with Smithsonian-wide requirements
- Supervise a multidisciplinary team including photographers, collections data administrators, digital asset managers, and rights and reproduction personnel
- Manage all digitization efforts at the museum by providing expert guidance on standards, technologies, and workflows
- Oversee the museum's intellectual property, digital asset management, and collections data management

QualificationsGS-13 Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Service.
For this position, specialized experience is defined as:1) Managing photography and digitization of museum collections to ensure appropriate quality and preservation
2) Overseeing museum digital asset management system administration and collections information system administration
3) Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to museum's digital assets
4) Participating in museum-wide collaborative initiatives related to strategic planning and institutional goalsetting
5) Supervising a multidisciplinary team and providing managerial guidance while fostering a collaborative work environment
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.
